Alright. So i have a Taurus 24 7 pro 9mm. Has given me NO problems. no FTE's, no FTF's, eats everything, never jammed, i mean flawless function. over 1k rounds through it within a month. I just had gotten used to the weird trigger, and today when i stripped it to clean it, i saw this. (See Pictures)

What im asking is normal or not is the weird looking triangular slit on the inside of the frame where the recoil spring is suppsed to sit. the reason it doesnt look like to me that its supposed to be that slit there is because its not smooth on the inside. Ive attached pictures, can someone else look at their gun (who have the same one) and tell if this is normal?

it looks like the metal was cut very thin between the two holes and may have started to crack with age. You send the pictures with an email to taurus customer service and see what they say. You could also visit a local shop that has one and ask the shop owner if you can field strip it , to look at it before buying it and see how it looks compared to yours.

Id say it shouldn't be like that, But as thin as the metal is there i cant see how it couldn't wear threw eventually.
My next stop would be http://www.taurusarmed.net and see what they say as they have the guns to compare it with.
Then decide if its somewhat normal or if it needs to go back to Taurus.
I know i have one spot on my PT1911 that is designed to wear threw on its own rather than them taking the time to make the extra cut and round off the material.

If you hear its normal id take a dremel to it and make a bullet shaped hole till it gets into a little more meat and keep it rounded.
That should help with stopping further wear and if its left unrounded it will eventually crack all the way threw. Round edges dont crack as often as jagged and square edges.

Hmm. Im starting to think that it indeed should wear through on its own. would you mind explaning what spot, youre speaking of. And if this wasnt normal, shouldnt it be affecting the performance of the weapon. I mean, its still functioning flawlessly.
