just purchased a taurus 24/7 pro compact had some FTE and FTF with my handloads along with wolf brand ammo. when i changed to american and winchester ammo (100 rounds) shot flawless. i compared the spring pressure of the taurus compact to my 1911 with a 18 pound recoil spring by manually cycling them. the taurus has a heavy spring. I may need to rethink my 45 acp recipes to the high end. this lack of gas pressure will keep the slide from fully cycling. I like the feel and the balance with 12 rds loaded. the weight is all in hand not out front that makes it faster to get back on the sights. gonna shoot 300 more rounds thru it with some factory ammo and after breakin it in i'll try some handloads. Can anyone tell me what size recoil spring taurus is using in the 24/7 pro compacts?
