Is your Go To Rifle a Hunting Rifle?

Hey Rob wanna go deer hunting?

Yeah sure let me get my rifle out of the safe (grabs bolt action 30-06).

Hey Rob, the evil undead werewolf biker zombies are coming and they ain't delivering pizza.

Ok (reaches into safe for high capacity poodle shooter) you have a chance to stop at the church for holy water?

For me, I guess it has to be my Marlin336C in .35 Rem. Another "redneck assault rifle":D . But it has plenty of knockdown out to two hundred yards with 200gr. core lokt ammo.
In close, it is light enough for quick target acquisition. I shoot this rifle a lot (cheap bullets) so it would be my first choice as a
"go to". Then I would hand it to my wife and grab the HK:evil:

My hunting rifles are for hunting. If I need a go to rifle its not going my 3030 or my 4570. It will be a M4 or G3.

Probably the M4 for the weight and ammo capacity. Along with the rem700pss with a springfield6x20 strapped across the back.

All though the 4570 isnt nothing to sneez at neither is the 3030.

If I git caught out in the field when my one-eyed hippie/yuppy Facist-loving fella down the street comes-a-callin' , I'll prolly have the 870 an' sabots . All other customers recieve complete courtesy of a M1A or Garand . Just because ? suppressed 308 , M14 or bolt I don't care surprise me .

Jack:D

Well, with my USP out of commission, the Mossy 835 is providing emergency combat resolution for the time. My Remington 7600 .35 Whelen is also kept loaded, but the situations where I would grab it before the shotgun would be pretty rare, i.e. I would have to know about trouble beforehand and unable to stop or avoid it. If the shotgun were also not available, I would gladly rely on the 7600. 250 grains of bullet moving at 2500 fps is going to ruin anyone's day. The Remington was purchased for hunting, but considering that I don't do much of that anymore, it gets used for range blasting and is the go-to rifle, being my only centerfire rifle.

Um, Nope!

My "Go To" rifle is my Hk 91.. I guess that I could use it as a hunting rifle in a pinch.

My Winchester Model 94 is my main hunting rifle.. But, it just doesn't cut the mustard as a "Go To" rifle, IMHO..:)

Currently, my go-to gun is a CZ 550 in 7x57. It's also my hunting rifle, or will be once the season starts. I'm a great believer in the "one rifle" theory. Carry it everywhere, use it for everything. Make it an extension of yourself and get used to hefting it. That way, when you're slogging through mud and devil's club, it won't seem so much of an encumbrance.

Besides, 7x57 is more than sufficient to deal with any would-be two legged problems. And I'd rather go to court with that rifle than my "evil looking" uptown chopper.

Mine is a Savage Scout 308 with a 2x Simmons on the Scout mount. It is the only suitable rifle that I have right now, so it will have to do.
Although, the M-39 Mosin Nagants did pretty well for the Finns....

Different.

Got to rifle is a M1 30 Carbine w/30rd banana clip

Hunting Rifles are various

I have a Browning BAR and do have an intrest in the HK SLB2000 also! Not the lightest thing there is but neither is my Browning. Wonder what kind of deal I could get one of those and a Semi-Auto Tacticle Shotgun? :scrutiny:
