Of the concealable handguns you own is your most carried handgun one you would prefer to defend yourself with? If not, why not.

For example, My 1st preference would be my Glock 20SF but it prints unacceptably with some of my favorite summer (most of the time here) shirts.
My 2nd preference is what gets carried most, a Glock 23 or 32 which is easily concealed wearing whatever shirt.
Although its 2nd pick, my Glock 23/32 does qualify as a handgun I would prefer in hand if I had to defend myself, regardless of location.

Disclaimers:
We are talking about concealable handguns you own. Not rifle, not shotgun.
In this thread concealable includes full size 1911, Glock 17/22 (examples) - yes those are concealable.
I burned post 2,000 for this. :neener:

For a very long time, no. I carried a 380acp LCP for the longest time. But the last two years, I have dedicated more interest and effort to carrying a G19 and when possible, my SiCo Maxim.

Relieved of the restriction of concealed carry where size isn’t a consideration, as an example, my choice in nightstand gun, these two pistols ARE my preferred choices, so I’m glad to finally be focused on carrying them as well.

My EDC is a S&W Shield 9X19mm. I have no problems concealing it year around. With that said I don't do the weapon rotation bit either thus my EDC is my EDC. At the mid point of my seventh decade, I have not turned into a mass of fat, thus we keep physically fit within reason.

Yes, but somewhat inverted. I do two pretty evenly. A full size M&P with a WML and RDS. Carries great and as good a handgun as I'd want if I had to fight with a handgun.

I also often carry a Kahr P9. By happenstance; today I might pick a Shield, but it is what I have. Since it is what I have to carry due to size/weight, I got a TLR-6 to have a light, and the slide cut for a red dot there also. Now it's extremely capable and I shoot it hardly worse than the full size (but for capacity) when I do stuff for score such as IDPA match days.

I carry a SIG Model 227, chambered in .45 ACP, whenever the weather and social circumstance permits-and I trust it with my life or I wouldn't be carrying it.

I would prefer something more powerful than what I pocket carry, but I cannot be made at work. So it is what it is. Along with the small pocket carry is another full size in my satchel that is easily accessed during my commute. Ideal? No, but the best I can do in my situation. Those days away from work, I'll carry whatever I feel like making the effort to conceal.

Yes, because once I decide to carry a gun, it is the one that I shoot almost exclusively. That gives me a lot of trigger time with it. Right now I am splitting the time between a Sig P365 and a Sig P365 XL with a Holosun 507K while I learn the dot. The least carried is a backup Glock 42. I would prefer to not have to defend myself with it, but I shoot it regularly, know its capabilities and limitations, and am prepared to fight with it.

hard to answer given the framing of the question...

Most carried: Sig P239
Is it a gun I choose to use for defensive purposes? Sure. that's why I carry it.

is there a different gun that I would choose to have on me if I knew for certain I would be defending myself? Yes (P226, second most carried)

Yes, that's why I carry it. A Combat Commander really isn't that hard to conceal.

SIG 365 IS ALL I HAVE;)

Yes, for both! PX4, .40 for one condition, H&K P30 SK for another.

Why would someone carry something they didn't want to carry?

Work clothes and what one does for work can be limiting.

My most carried concealed handgun is my Remington RM380. But I'd much rather carry my Glock 36.

Work is a limiting factor, that I consider beyond ones control.
I did not put that in the OP because I'd rather read it as a reply.

The question is not a trick, may be reflective for some, what is carried most and is it preferred is straightforward. ;)

Of the concealable pistols I own my primary carry gun is pretty far down the list of my preferred for defense. But it’s small and lite enough to be comfortable to carry in my most common manner.

would I prefer one of my others in a gun fight, absolutely but if I carried one of those I’d prefer to keep my pants up, or not be jabbed in the side or on and on.
It’s a compromise, unfortunately.

Yes, over the course of my carrying "life" my most carried is either some variant of 1911 or some generation of Glock 19.

Both would be amongst the top options I'd reach for in any situation.

These days it's mostly the Glock.

The brands and types of pistols out there for carry is pretty significant. I spent a considerable amount of time and money finding one that both carried and shot well but I think there is something out there for everyone now

Over the last 5 years my most carried was an LC9S 7 rds, until my kid borrowed it, so I then carried a Kimber micro 9 or my little LCP, even when I carried the LC9S, I often carried the LCP when I needed something smaller.

I have and like my 15 rd Security 9 and I shoot it really well. So, I am looking for a Security 9 Compact (yep 10 rds instead of 15) so I can have the Sec9 for a bedside gun and the compact for a carry, then I will most likely retire the LC9S. Probably will not retire the LCP as it is a good deep conceal when you want to put something in your pocket and don't want anyone to know you have a gun on you (we call them church guns in our group).

So, my come to find out my kid really liked my Security 9, and I was able to find one at the LGS so he got one for Christmas He open carries, so this works for him. I am now back to carrying my LC9S as my primary, my second most carried is a LCP, and the one I want to carry is the Sec 9, but, as stated above, not feasible sometimes, so, looking to get the Sec9 Compact. Probably two or three different combinations of not carrying the one I want to be carrying, but, sometimes life makes you compromise.

How is that for convoluted?

My EDC is a Sig P365XL...I have no doubts about it. It’s a tack driver and with 28 rounds of 9mm, I’m pretty comfortable.

I also have a PX4 Storm in .45 ACP that I can carry when the weather is right (sweaters). It would probably be my preference (21 rounds of .45 ACP), but I don’t lose sleep over it!
