My wife has a Ithaca 150 double barrel shotgun, which she has had for about 30 years. We took it out of the closet the other day and we noticed it has a small dent in one of the barrels. What do we have to do to get this fixed? I think it is a rare gun and it is worth a little bit of money. Thanks for your help.

Your best situation to deal with a dented shotgun barrel is to have an experienced shotgun gunsmith (like myself) raise the dent.

I am used to looking for dents in older guns, especially older classic S x S style, since they were built with the barrels of a lighter construction to make better handling characteristics.

I have an older Hercules (Iver Johnson) here that I am raising a number of dents: 2 large and several smaller "ping" dents.

I have the equipment to fit almost all of the barrels out there for raising dents.

Read my other posts for more info. from a gunsmith perspective.
