We were better off under Obama period, and we should also lack votes to pass gun control right now under Trump. There was pressure on Republicans under Obama to pass legislation especially after elementary children were gun down, but nothing was able to be passed. Under Trump, things are being banned, and it appears that gun control will be passed. With Trump pushing the agenda, there are votes to get gun control passed. Some of the same legislation that Obama could not get passed in his 8 years will be passed by Trump within his 3 years. You're living in a dream world if you believe we're better off now than we were then... Plus, I don't see him getting another 4 years if he's influential in passing his UBC, and it's up in the air about whether he stands a chance if a Red Flag law is passed.@Styx , you're living in a dream world if you truly believe Trump is more anti than Obama. Obama merely lacked the votes to get it done. Obama and his crowd actively went after guns, Trump is merely reacting to public pressure and he nor the Republicans has put forth meaningful anti gun legislation as far as banning guns.
I'd much rather take my chances on guns with Trump than Obama.
Any "perfect" pro gun candidates out there? I'd say no as well. Any that are much better than the crop of Dems right now? Oh yea.
Is Trump just as bad as Democrats, maybe not; however, IMHO, there wouldn't be enough votes to pass gun control with a Republican majority in the Senate if we had a Democrat president. There would not be any political will for Republicans in the Senate to vote/side with Democrats either. There would be gridlock, and nothing would be done. The exact opposite is happening now because we have a Republican president calling for more gun control instead of a Democrat. In that respect, no, Trump is worse than Obama.
