I've fallen into the Sig trap and I can't get out.

I have now challenged myself to get as good with my new P229, but it is going to take some serious work (shoot! Shooting is so unfun!)

Those are the fun challenges though. :) Once these get worn in the trigger feel is very nice as far as these DA/SA types go. If yours has the SRT, even better.

the SIG P220 is their finest weapon(IMHO) it feels right ,shoots great and functions almost perfectly(mine had the recoil spring climb over the guide rod int he first few range sessions. Sig fixed it and now the gun runs perfectly. it is my favorite non 1911 to shoot

enjoy the ride

Back when I paid $319.00 for my West German police surplus Sig P6 I should have bought a spare.

No kidding, and back when I picked up a couple West German CPO (minty with no slide wear) P-228s for around $425 I should have bought two more spares!

The original P-6/P-225 pistols, if you can find a fair specimen (not the beaters that are the only ones I've been seeing over the past couple of years), seem to be commanding ridiculous prices. Fine pistols, nothing like a single-stack SIG ...

I had to sell off my own first P228 some years back and it took me a while to find a replacement at a decent price and when I did I found 2 at $495.00 but I only bought one

I found a nice Sig P6 example at an LGS but at $599.00 its not exactly cheap!

Yep, handloaded a couple-five-hundred rounds and plan to really bear down on my fundimentals with that first shot. The SA with the SRT trigger is nice once I get going.

I went back to carrying my Glock 17/26 for about 3 days before the P229 wormed it way back into my holster. Its just so nice to carry and my issue is really only 3" off at 10 yards on one shot, from the holster. Will work fine for carry needs.

Yep, put me down as having fallen into the "SIG trap" many years ago. I bought my first SIG in '92 and it was a P220 that I still have. I bought a P320 Carry for my gf for Christmas last year and recently bought myself a P320 TACOPS Carry along with an MPX SBR. Other SIGs I have include a P220 Carry, P220 Combat with threaded barrel, a pair of P225s and a P239 which are all excellent pistols. I gave a P220 to my ex-wife a few years back who still has it and I sold another P220 to a coworker when I was at Remington. I recently participated in a Crimson Trace course and really enjoyed shooting the P938 that they provided. It was a solid little gun that I would definitely consider stuffing in a pocket in the summer.

Here are my latest two SIGs.

I have 7 of them, a P220, P226, P229 in 357 Sig/40, P938, P320 in 45, 357 Sig and a P320RX 9. I don't remember any of them having a failure of any kind. The P220 along with my CZ 97B are my favorite 45's to shoot, as they're accurate and tame the recoil well. The P229 and P320RX have become my go to carry guns when I carry IWB.

I should stop reading this thread...may develop lust for more Sig's. Like a 220 and or a 226 in Scorpion or Extreme flavorings. :D

Ever since I got my 229 (almost have that first shot perfect now) I've been itching to try a Legion. The beavertail and undercut trigger guard really appeal to me. I think I might try a 226 legion at a local range this weekend.

Then of course a 227 carry might fit REAL well for winter carry...

What happened to the zillion 226's the Dept of Homeland Security dumped a few years ago? Did any of them make it
to the market place?

I've owned a number of Sigs over the years and had good and bad experiences with both. A sig 250 in .357 and 40 cals. to me was horrible. My son also had the same pistol and we both experienced FT Fires and FT feeds. we couldn't get rid of them fast enough.
I went to a 239 because I still had 357 ammo. The gun was great and the ammo matched me perfectly but I needed other things and the 239 sale helped pay them off.
I found a PD trade in 229 in 40 and loved it. Then a 230 in 40 came along at a can't pass up price the week they announced the military contract. Love that pistol too.
While looking for a 9mm barrel for the 229 I saw a FDE Elite Scorpion on a gun auction site and won the bid. The Short Return Trigger makes all the difference in the world, to me. You could probably say I'm a bit of a Siggy too.
