Did John Browning have a hand in converting the 1911 into .38 Super? I know that he developed the 38ACP and the pistols associated with that cartridge. I also know that the 38ACP and the Super share the same case dimentions, but that the Super is much higer pressure. The question is, did he personally "work out the bugs" in fitting the .38 Super into the 1911? Thanks

No. The .38 Super made its debut three years after Browning died. He was involved with its parent cartridge in 1900, the .38 ACP which was dimensionally identical to the Super, but loaded to lower pressures and velocities.
