Just a heads up. Ruger

Pretty minor issue in my book.

Yes except for the part about it possibly firing when the bolt handle is lifted. Obviously none of use would do it, but someone could get a click with no bang, mistakingly assume the mag didn't lock back after the last shot, and the put the rifle up thinking the chamber must be empty, with potential disaster lurking later when the gun is to be cleaned or used again.

I don't have any tolerance for a mechanical problem that can make a gun fire when the trigger is not actually being pulled, despite how much "operator error" might be required to make it be dangerous.

I'm with Varminterror on this, particularly since the rifle doesn't need to go back for the fix.

I edited my post to include the words "to fix." A hangfire is a serious condition, but taking 10min of my life to lick the groove of the bolt shroud with a file and add some clearance is not a major repair job.

I have an RPR subject to the bulletin. Mine isn't going back, I'm just going to open up the problem area myself. Faster than driving into town to ship it, let alone waiting around to get it back.

I guess you didn't read the bulletin then.

I watched the video in the bulletin announcement, the dude says they'd bring it in and determine if it's affected. If they're just sending them out, all the better.

I think he read the message. It says it is clearance problem....it also says the problem will abate as the parts wear....you hsve to wonder who didnt read the message. Im with Varminterror on this one, at least for those who have a complete understanding of the problem and know how the firearm works....which Im sure he does.
