Thanksgiving whitetail
30 year old grandson took his boy (age 9) and VSL (Very Significant Lady, and "mebbe someday soon") on their 1st bambi hunt a couple of days before the holiday, (the boy for "being with Dad", adults only with firearms, permanent "comfort" stand), and she got her 1st ever whitetail, a nice modest size buck, hunting on her dad's land. One shot clean/quick kill, with a 40 caliber Hi-Point carbine no less, go figure. (legal in Georgia, a bit to my surprise). Grandson had her back with a boltie 270, just in case.
So, before the holiday is over great-granddad is taking 'em to range with a small armload of carbines that the old guy thinks better suited to a little lady's pursuit of more venison -
a pair of lever action 357s
a Marlin 18" 30-30
a Remington model 7 in 243
an NEF scoped 243
anyway, we are all real proud of her
she is a 1st class act, and apparently a 1st class shot as well
