There aren't any gun shops in town, or even within about a half hour drive of here. The closest dealers that have any sort of inventory are an hour away, but there's a lot to choose from there, including one that's class 3. But I was looking around online the other day and I found an FFL in town. I talked to him today, and they'll order stuff if someone wants them to, and do transfers for $10, which is as cheap as it gets around here (or anywhere). They're going to ship a handgun for me tomorrow, which saves me a ton of money over UPS and I don't have to drive to a gun shop in another town. That's the main purpose I wanted to find a local FFL this week, but it will be very handy for transfers in the future.

The surprising thing is that this local FFL is the gas station and convenience store just down the street, about a eighth of a mile from me. There's another one in town too apparently, and it's the local pharmacy. The local pawn shop doesn't do guns, but a couple of very unlikely places do. Neither one stocks any guns, ammo, cleaning supplies, or anything else gun related, but if I need beer and Viagra I'm set. :)

I guess I finally got something positive from wasting time online. :D

The convenience store- I guess you could put together the next ATF Picture thread in one stop!

An eighth of a mile?? Man, that is just right for a stroll to pick up or drop something off. Save on the price of gas, and get some exercise at the same time. Can life get any better?

Really long-time residents of Northern Arizona were saddened by the closure of a Flagstaff institution — Ruff's Liquor & Guns on South Milton Street. It even had a drive-through. The store is still there, but they gave up their FFL. Sad, sad, sad...

Lennyjoe, I've used Gunbroker's dealer finder before, and that's how I found the FFL I've been using for a while. He's a half hour away, which wasn't a huge deal until I found one down the street. ;)

I found these local FFL's, and several others closer than my other guy, on Gunslive.com at http://www.gunslive.com/dealerlocator.php. I used the ATF's EZ Check to make sure all the ones in my area were still good, of which about half were. They didn't show up on searches on other sites. I'm not sure what Gunslive does differently, but I'm glad they do. :D
