Im really excited, I just picked up my M4gery yesterday from my dealer right before work so I didnt have time to play with it after picking it up but once I got home last night I was like a kid at Christmas. I also just got my 10 black Pmags in today! This is my first AR and I love it. I have a few questions though. The rifle is almost flawless with only a couple slight rubs and scratches here and there. It is a CMMG lower and I am not sure how to tell about the upper. Like I said this is my first AR and I mainly bought it as a learning tool. It does have a slight wobble between the upper and lower. Is this a problem? Is there something I can do about it? I knew when I ordered it that is wasnt going to be perfect so I am not complaining. The 5 position stock is also a bit wobbly. At the moment I am trying to decide on a budget BUIS and a bag for it and the mags. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated, Thanks!!!

PS I will post pics once I can get a new camera.:uhoh:

Every AR I own does that. Bushmaster, Stag, Rock River, Colt... they all have a little wobble to some extent.

Just the world of ARs. Doesn't hurt anything. There are some aftermarket things you can buy to tighten it up but I don't see the value in it.

Those CMMG things are nice. I was gonna order one but they stopped selling them before I got around to it.

Such a good deal I thought.

Grats on your purchase.

just about any AR style weapon youre going to have that problem. shouldnt be an issue at all but if youre REALLY concerned about it, get you one of these:

as for the stock, i just put 2 layers of 90MPH tape between the stock and mount and it tightened it right up, but that was my ISSUE weapon.

scratches and rubs are pretty much inevitable on any weapon you use, dont feel too heartbroken, adds character. hell, my carry glock is many shades lighter from wearing it and she looks meaner than the day i bought her brand new.

Thanks guys, I really want to keep this as cheap as possible so I probably wont be trying ro fix the wobble. It isnt too bad anyways. Sorry to hear that you didnt get to order one. I had to wait a little over a month to get mine and about 2 months to save up enough dough. Im sure with all of the business that they do these days, we will be seeing a similar deal again.

I got mine a couple weeks ago, and I love it. Mine has almost no play between receivers, my M16 at basic was very, very wobbly but it shot well anyway. Keep a good grip on it and it won't matter if it shakes a little.

My CMMG has a tiny mark like a fingernail was pressed into the finish on the magwell, but it isn't noticeable. The dustcover has a lighter area, it actually looks like the most heavily used part of the entire rifle.

I just ordered a truglo red dot 2x scope from Cheaper Than Dirt, when I get it and get it out on the range I will post about it, CTD is where I got my carry handle and detachable rear sight from too. the carry handle was the Weaver one, it is good and hasn't shaken loose at all. The other rear sight, it's a UTG and that thing was what I was shooting with yesterday. when I was packing up I noticed it was really loose, I don't know if I didn't tighten it enough or not but I feel better about the weaver.

Bluerider, experienced the same wobble you're talking about. I put "Accuwedge's" in both my Bushmaster and my Rock River. Cured the wobble. Matter of fact I made mention of this little piece to one of my friends over in the sand box...long story short ended up sending a dozen over to him.

if your looking to get out of the wobble on your next one look into the sun devil lower  it has an adjustable tension screw with pad to remove play between the upper and lower instead of the acuwedge which will work ..... have one in may DPMS AR 10 ...works fine

The play isn't even a "problem". It's just how ARs are.

And an accuwedge is what, $4? I can't see buying a fancy upper for a problem that, well, isn't.
