I live two miles from Candlewood lake in NF also.Just moved from a house in New Fairfield on Candlewood Lake last year, beautiful area.
Nice state owned outdoor range, Wooster Mt., in Danbury on Rt.7 near the Danbury Mall/Danbury Airport. Wonderful motorcycle roads throughout the area.
You're very close to much NYS border, be extra careful not to cross it when you're carrying. Very easy to slip unintentionally into Westchester Co. and Putnum Co. NY on some of the smaller roads. Cross it, get caught, and you're a felon.
1st ? why?(lol) was it for work? hard to believe as we lose more obs than any other state I knowAny THR members nearby?

great post. your area has some nice ranges and that sweet lake. you warning should be heeded too-I know of at least one wanderer who ended up in NY and had legal issues because of different rules--great pointJust moved from a house in New Fairfield on Candlewood Lake last year, beautiful area.

and yet sound suppressors are not--make s perfect sense--NOTWelcome to CT. I'm sure any of us would be wiling to help you with legality of bringing certain guns into the state. Be mindful that any threaded barrel on a semi automatic pistol is illegal as well.
steve--the ammo permit is a separate issue. If you get a pistil permit you do NOT need a separate ammo permit. Even to buy ammo on the netWelcome to CT (I hope).
As long as you did not bring any "assault weapons" or magazines over 10 rd capacity, you should be OK.
If you expect to buy ammunition, please remember to apply for your "Ammunition Permit".
And if you plan to get a Permit to Carry Pistol or Revolver, stand by for a restrictive process that may take several months.
Again, Welcome to CT!
CT is a small world kind of place--small state- we all live within 1 hours drive of each other--I live two miles from Candlewood lake in NF also.
Small world!
