Just ordered the following from Vang Comp Systems:

Mossberg 590-A1 with:
VCS Parkerized 18.5" Barrel
Factory Ghost Ring Sights
All Metal Trigger Group
Factory Synthetic Stock
VCS Aluminum Oversized Safety
VCS tritium front sight insert
VCS stainless steel magazine follower
VCS 1 shot extension tube
Surefire LED weapon light/forend
IBD tactical sling
Tac-Star side saddle (holds 6 shells)

Believe it or not, I did not know about Vang before looking around in this section and hearing how much everyone likes Hans' work. I am so darn excited to get my first shotgun! I get to go pick it up this time next week from my local dealer. :D:D:D:D:D

Vang Comp is good stuff. You should be happy. Just remember that you will still need to aim at 25 yds- the Vang guns put out a tight pattern for sure.

Just a couple of suggestions as I also have a 590A-1 with the VCS and the SF 623FA forend tactical light. I upgraded the stock 623FA bulb to a Malkoff M60L LED (4.5 hours runtime at 140 +/- Lumens) but with the following brass ring and spring washer to make for a snug fit, as noted in the assembly picture. I also upgraded the stock magazine tube spring to a Wolff spring made for the 590 and added a stainless steel follower available from VCS. Also, here are pics of some print patterns with the VCS (the LE133 00 is the only shotshell shown here with the Flightcontrol Wad technology). As can be seen, the VCS really does make a difference.

The M60L and the M60 are $55 each on the Malkoff Devices website. You can purchase them for slightly less plus lesser shipping costs from one of the two distributors listed on the Malkoff Devices website.

The M60L: The output is 140+/- lumens. The current draw is approximately 350ma at 6 volts. The runtime is approximately 4 1/2 hours on 2 CR123 primary batteries. It will easily illuminate objects at 150+ feet.

The M60: The output is 235+ lumens. The current draw is only 750ma at 6 volts. The runtime is 1 1/2+ hours on 2 CR123 primary batteries. It will easily illuminate objects at 350+ feet and will blind opponents within a 100 foot radius.

The Beryllium spring washer is $1.00 and the brass ring was provided gratis as a test measure to see if it would stablize the M60L. It did stabilize the M60L but I do not know what it will cost (not very much is what I expect).
By comparison, the SF P60L (LED) has a maximum 80 Lumens output.
