Haven't shot it yet, but I love the feel. I must say, I do like the gen3's. I have night sights on her, and a set of Talon grips and a titanium guide rod on the way, but wondered what else might be worth doing to it. I know the list of Glock upgrades is LONG, but if you have a 30s and have made any worthwhile adjustments, I'd be happy to hear them.

Stay safe and happy shooting.

The 30/30sf/30s is a great line of pistols. There's not a lot you need to do. I've been carrying a 30sf 75% of the time since I got it in 2012 , added night sights and that was it. Been a fantastic gun, wouldn't be without it .
First glock?

If you have sights that you like and a slide stop that you like, maybe a smooth trigger if you prefer them? Maybe a flush fit mag for carry? Not much you need to fix on the G30 series IMO.

I am not sure the G-30S actually "needs" this.

But I am looking at sending her to BoresightSolutions for a major grip configuration.

They did my G-19 and it is so perfect and grippy and well set up,that I am not about to carry & shoot another Glock without their work on her.

Second actually. I dipped my toes in the water with a gen5 26...which I practically sleep in. I wanted a 45 for woods carry, and while I LOVE the 1911 next to my bed, it’s a little much on hikes.

good call on the flush fit mag (whoever suggested it). It came with 2 10-rounders and 1 9-round mag. I have small hands, so I can even squeeze my pinky onto the flush mag.

I can’t wait to feel the recoil! At the risk of sounding too Johnny Bravo, recoil hasn’t ever bothered me. I’m more curious about double taps and such.

As far as the trigger goes, I kinda like the “stiffer” break that it has (certainly stiffer than my gen5 26). A nice wall, then bang. If it was lighter, I might not consider it a defensive pistol.

Keep the testimonials coming!

I just work with the trigger I'm given on a gun that's going to see a lot of carry use. I think the factory trigger is useable and lightening a carry guns trigger is bad juju in my book, most others probably feel differently .
9 round mags have been unavailable at times, about 5 years ago I bought 2 off eBay for $50 each because there just were none that I could find. The 9 rounders are abundant now, just use 1 for carry and get a couple spares new for future use. Get g21 mags for reloads / range use. G30s is a bit less bulky but still not a small gun, small enough though .
45 acp from modern polymer guns is a pussy cat, I couldn't tell much difference between shooting my g21 VS my g30, so I got rid of the g21. Never regreted that . I like 230 grain short barrel gold dots loaded by Speer for carry ammo but I'm sure others have different preferences .
Good luck, post a range report when you get out there.

I recently traded my 30S off. Got rid of my 21 as well. Good guns and shooters, just prefer the 9mm,s these days.

Other than some night sights, a couple of 21 mags for the reloads is all Id do.

I got my 30S in 2014.

I did a detail-strip inspection and a Fluff&Buff on the innards prior to re-assembly.

I sourced and ordered some 9rd mags (and 10 rounders when I found a good sale) an a few Pearce extensions.

Added Glock Night Sights.

For a couple years it sported an innertube wrap on the grip.

Replaced Glock Night Sights with TFOs (BIG improvement!)

That is a list of my mods.

Shoots like a dream in my hands. :)

Here is a pic that I took before the TFOs:

Shoot the bejeebers out of it? I'd get a few boxes of ammo through it before I started making more changes.

Congratulations on getting one that you like. I had a 30S and it wasn't for me, but that was a "Spats Problem," not a "Pistol Problem." I just didn't care for the way it fit my hand. Otherwise, it seemed like a good pistol.

You could do a lot worse than a G30 for SD piece. My favorite configuration is the G30, as I never felt the S variants to be worth the upgrade trouble. I have a 3.5# trigger upgrade, with a set of awesome Agent sights. That gun, with two G21 mags stored on the one's side, brings something like 41 rounds to the party.

That said, for this particular bio unit, the G30 is the most accurate G model I have shot. I'd carry this heater with no confidence problem.

Congrats on the 30S. A Glock 30 is on my wish list...just cannot decide between the Gen 4 and the "S". I want the S because it will fit in my G19 holsters, but I like the Gen 4 features (finish, grip, mag release) a lot.

Another accessory you might consider is a G21 magazine and an XGrip adapter. Would be a good idea for the G26 as well (with G19 mags). I use them for my G26 and my wife's G19 nightstand gun (with G17 mag)

Cool, nice gun. Mine was a good shooter.

Just can't get along with Gen 3 grips, especially in the bigger calibers.

If mine had a Gen4 frame I'd probably still have it.

I like the looks of that grip!

I really like the fullness of the grip on the 30, but there’s something about the balance of the 30s that was too strong to turn down.
