I'm so excited !

I've been searching the Internet EVERY gol darn day for a S&W 929 revolver, and tonight when I searched a second time, later in the evening, one popped up at Cheaper Than Dirt.

So I bought it!

Wow I'm so excited! FINALLY ! The 9mm revolver of my dreams !

Cool. Have fun with it.

I'm kind of hoping to find a 986, I'd rather have a little smaller gun than an N frame.

I think they have made more of the 986 than the 929 revolvers.

I wanted a 9mm revolver years ago when Smith and Ruger were making them, neither the 547, nor the Ruger SP101 had adjustable sights. I thought they'd come out with models that did have adjustable sights - but instead they stopped making 9mm revolvers :(

The things that I wanted, in order of importance to me were:

1) Adjustable sights

2) A long barrel - I really wanted it as a plinker and bulls eye shooter more than anything else

3) A 9mm-sized cylinder to minimize the "jump" to the forcing cone.

I was willing to settle for the Charter Arms PITBULL but I've never been able to find one.

I was going to purchase the Alfa Proj 9231 from CzechPoint U.S.A. but Dan Brown never imported the revolver this year.

I'm glad I waited though - the 929 was really my dream.

God Bless Jerry Miculek !

The problem I have now though is that I think I'm going to have to get that 9mm Ruger LCR too :D

I can say that ordering from Grab-A-Gun is easier than ordering from Cheaper Than Dirt.

I ordered my CM9 from Grab-A-Gun and chose my FFL, got notification from my FFL that Grab-A-Gun was sending his my CM9.

The process of choosing an FFL on Cheaper Than Dirt's site is kind of glitchy and my order didn't show my FFL's address.

There were only 2 pistols in stock and they sold out in about 30 minutes.

Very cool. You will definitely be the only one on the block with it.

Let us know how it shoots.

Congratulations on your new purchase! Like you, I have been waiting a long time for a high quality, DA, adj. sight 9mm revolver. I was planning on buying a 986 and a 929 next year, but I found a deal on a 986 about a month ago that I could not pass up. I will give myself a 929 for my birthday in the spring

I was a little disappointed to learn that the barrel leads up when I shoot cast bullets through it - apparently due to the faster rifling twist rate. I will try some Berry's plated bullets once I get them loaded.

A year ago, if the 986 were the only 9mm revolver S&W made - I would have been tickled pink with it!

I would even have been happy with the Alfa Proj, I was sending e-mails to Dan Brown periodically to see when he was going to get the 9231 in. I asked if he would import the 6" barreled version, because that's what I really wanted - but he said no. When S&W started making the 986 and the 929 I lost interest in the 9231. I e-mailed him in May of 2013 and he said there were some import difficulties and a 4-month lead time at the factory for the 9231, and he expected them end of October 2013. So I wrote to him at the end of October in 2013 and he said they would be arriving by the end of Q1 2014, then S&W came out with the 929 and I really wanted it.

I still would check on the 9231 (no pun intended), at CzechPoint USA, but they always showed out of stock. They probably are a good deal for $475.00, but the 929 is what I really want.

I basically paid MSRP for it, but I've always been afraid that it would be a very limited production and S&W would stop making them.

I picked it up this morning.

I loaded it up with A-Zooms. Every time the SA trigger breaks I just laugh and giggle. and giggle and laugh.

I'm so happy right now.

Congrats, I know exactly how you feel. My dealer has been looking for me a 327 TRR8 for six months now :(

Good for you!

Pretty cool concept in pistols. All that attention going into the little 9mm. What a rockin' time you're gonna have with loads, cheap ammo and the potential for amazing accuracy.

Thanks too for the heads-up on "Grab a Gun", never heard of them.

Looks like something that would be fun to send back to the "Shop" for scope mounting options in the future.
