Did not like the original S&W grips (stocks) on my well used model 15. So I looked around on the internet seeking grips that would suit me. The prices being asked are high and higher.from most vendors. I looked on ebay & found a vendor, Bobby.a from Thailand that offered what appeared to be just what I wanted at a price I would pay. About half the cost of others. Worth a try. Ordered my first set, the top image. They were very nice, fitted well and were comfortable. Well worth their price.
Decided I wanted to try the other design offered by the vendor, the lower image, also very nice, fits properly and they were comfortable. Again well worth the price. Both sets were under $40.00.
Shipping from Thailand is SLOW, but if you can wait, the grips are great and won't break the bank.
Note: I get nothing from the vendor, just good grips for my money.

My favorite grips on the K-frame are the HOGUE grips. I prefer rubber, but you can also get them in wood for a premium.

My model 15's feel great and shoot very well with them.

Apparently prices on these grips are now a bit higher. $59 +$5 shipping on Amazon. $70 with free shipping on EBay. 1 month ship time.

I did, as Riomouse911 mentioned, remove the pumpkin colored finish with acetone, stain them with dark walnut stain. They are now waiting for their second application of Minwax Antique Oil finish.
I like them better without their original color.
It appears that Amazon offers the grips at a higher price than the ebay offerings. Some Thai entrepreneur is coming up in the world.

I bought a set of Jerry Miculek grips for my 686 and really like them.
Edit:
I misspoke, I was given a set of Miculek grips by a man who shows up here occasionly,
Creeker. A very generous man!

I have had several pair and liked them all.

The ugly common Pachmayr types work best for me on a K-frame, though. :-(

This SP101 looks very nice with the Thai hardwood grips. They also fit my hands much better than the originals.

.

I have been through several variations of wood grips on my K-frame over the years and have never been satisfied with any of them even after modificiations to two sets. I went to Hogue rubber grips last year and they are much better than any of the wooden ones to me but still leave something to be desired. I may try out the Packs and hope.

I tried the Pachmayr Presentation grips, thought they were too big on my S&W 65. Tried their Gripper model and it feels right and shoots well.

I am tempted by some of the Thai grips though. Rubber is nice, but nothing looks as good as a set of nicely grained wood grips.

I am in the same boat as several others. I have tried a few different wood grips, magna's with a grip adapter, etc. and keep coming back to a set of pachmayr gripper professionals (the ones that don't cover the back strap). They don't look good, but the feel good. Form follows function, and all that...

I am tempted by these Thia grips though, them look like a nice shape and folks seem to like them.

I totally agree about the looks------but-----my hands are just as old as the rest of me and I have traded looks for comfort and ease of use. I have a fair sized box of pretty wooden grips that I have made over the years and have recently quit using in favor of ugly rubber. I just ordered the Pachmayr rubber grips for my K-model to see if they feel better than the Hogue's.

Presentation or Gripper?

OK, that didn't take long, I started looking on Ebay, caved, and just ordered a set of Thai grips. LOL

Am I allowed to post a link to them?

I recently bought some K frame Pachmayr Presentation grips from Amazon. They were too big for my model 19. The gun literally flopped around inside the grip. I sent them back.

One guy in the review section of the Amazon page said “I just used some duct tape to add thickness to the frame to make them work.”
Pachmayr has been doing this long enough that they should be able to make grips that fit.

I have looked for the Thai seller on ebay several times and have never been able to find him. Anyone have a link for his store? Thanks in advance.

I put in the Ebay search "s&w K frame grips square thailand" and all of them came up.

I looked and didn't see any prohibitions about linking, so here are the grips I just ordered, you'll have to scroll down a little to see them:

I asked if what I saw would be the ones that actually arrive, and they replied yes. They're rosewood with what looks like some nice grain.

Now the wait....
