Her inaugural speech for the job included a statement that safety should be a right.

Braden at Langely Outdoors makes some good points here about the real agenda being driven by the anti's, Kamala is being told what to say and they are carefully constructing their propaganda.

The governor of New Mexico, Lujan Grisham recently destroyed her political career following the same path, attempting to nullify the second amendment in the county encompassing Albuquerque, citing “Safety” as her pressing concern.
I don’t think we have too much to concern about.
I believe it was Thomas Jefferson that stated “ those who would exchange safety for freedom will receive neither “, iirc.

Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
That one is getting a little tired, and it's totally over the head of certain factions in government and the populace.

I prefer:

It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

and

The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.

-Samuel Adams

(I like the Boston Lager, too)

@Old Dog I disagree in the sense the idea is a little tired, maybe overused. Absolutely agree with either of the sentiments quoted. Likewise

“One man with courage makes a majority.”

the problem is that they represent the never ending attack on our God given rights.
If rights are "God given," the presumption then is that they are also "God protected," and we don't have to do anything to safeguard them. All this turn of phrase ("God given") does is give us an alibi and excuse to do nothing. Let's leave God out of this.

We have to be as never ending in our defense of rights as the antis are in attacking them. No divine crutches.

To a point, I agree. In a perfect world, you would be absolutely correct. The key fact… the rights are not bestowed or granted by the government, The rights are protected from government, The problem is the ‘human.’

I strongly disagree - I think we DO have to worry about this. If Kamala fails, whose fault will it be? The GOP/Libertarians/Conservatives. When legislation cannot pass? Blame the NRA. Televise ever drive-by that kills a child, or road rage incident that kills a mom.

Governor Grisham and Kamala will gladly fall on their swords for the good of the Progressive Movement, because they will show up elsewhere, well taken care of.

We will sit back and not find much to be concerned about. They'll work their asses off to show us wrong.

Reminds me of back in 2012 when Obama appointed Biden to lead a gun task force and he managed to accomplish nothing for the next 4 years. Now Biden has to act like he’s doing whatever he can in order to pacify his far left constituents.
