@ least some of the talking heads can pretend to appear unbiased

i was flipping channels and caught a few min of whatever show dan abrams does these days- simply sickening and mindboggling

some people just don't get it; & his liberal guest makes me glad i'm not @ georgetown law
i can @ least have intellegent discussions w/my law profs that more guns != more innocents deaths

Hmm .... I hadn't realized she was paid that much.

I'm willing to read the news in much less time for much less money. I do it every morning at breakfast, so I have experience.

I rather doubt that she saw the logic. I think she was genuinely confused about how a city with a 32-year gun ban could be that dangerous.

"Cognitive dissonance" they call it... :p
 
Most likely she got that 'comment' of hers from a pro gunner or elsewhere.

In most subject matters, she and many others in the mass media remain IGNORANT and VERY biased. NO offense.

All you have to do is go back and see their past 'news' including the Million Mom ___ Marchers - anti gunners and the FEW people who covered the PRO GUN ladies and gentlemen with the S. A. Sisters and a few gun orgs who supported them.

By the way, the NRA did not support the SA Sisters nor did they speak UP at their pro gun RALLY when it was held in D.C. years ago. (This was after the Colorado killer teens killed others back in 1998 or so at the one high school.) There were MANY NRA, GOA, etc. people who marched and supported those Second Amendment Sisters along with a few who gave speeches. The NRA did not even respond to say that they would NOT help or even attend the pro gun march against the ANTI GUN Million Mom Marchers, the Brady Bunch and Hollywierd marchers.

If my memory serves me correctly, Katie and others of her ILK in the news for the sheep - couldn't quite contain herself (I think she was doing some OTHER show at the time.) in praise of those bim, errr, Million Mom ANTI GUN Marchers.

I trust her news and journalistic SKILLS (?!?) just as much as I trust the Brady Bunch, anti speech folks and Charles Manson! UGH.

Most likely she got her SPIN from someone else's comment in the pro gun community.

If she made one good comment... good for her. Now... if she and others in the 'media' would just tell the real news - no Faux Fox, no Cnn, no x, y or z.

I taped my friends who were on Cspan from MD, ME, PA, VA, etc. who attended the Second Amendment Sisters PRO GUN March in D.C. against the anti gun MM Marchers. Hello to Laz, Red and others if you read this post. I mailed my tape to one of them and it was passed on. If I had not been self employed and booked... I would have attended that march in D.C. I could have stayed with my brother in MD or with them.

I was right. I still can't stand the sound of her voice.
 
Finally someone in the mainstream surrenders to common sense and asks such an obvious question. Thankyou Katie. (But I still hate her)

D.C. has had a staggeringly high murder rate for all of those 32 years. Fenty's got nothing to fight with.

Y'know, looking back on it, the big city draconian gun law proponents would not be in this situation if they had simply been competent, or even nearly competent, in controlling crime in their cities.

They don't want to be judged on their performance. It's been really poor.

If I were an anti-gunner, I'd be blaming the fools that have run the LE in places like D.C., Chicago, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, etc. for fueling the need to change the status quo.

It's gonna be really bad for those cities, and the antis in general, if the major violent crime rates trend downward from the point of relaxed gun regulations.
 
Maybe Katie thought she was lobbing the guy a softball. I mean he is dumb, but how dumb do you have to be to not prepare for THAT question?
 
I'm guessing one of the producers fed her that question through her headset.
 
Don't for a minute believe that she's on our side. She was probably hoping he would say the ban needs to be nationwide.

I am truly surprised that Komrade Katie Kouric said that.

She probably was expecting Fenty to say something along the line that the ban sould be put in place immediately, nationwide.

Based on how the interview went before that question, I am convinced that she meant for Fenty to say that it was all the other states who didn't have the same ban that caused the problem.
 
I heard shes getting the boot from CBS news next year sometime because her ratings suck.

There have been some rumors to the effect that CBS will let her go soon and CNN will take her to replace Larry King.
 
Because if we didnt ban guns DC wouln't be the most dangerous place in the nation, it would be the top super duper most dangerous place in the nation. :barf:

Hopefully this is incorrect.As bad as Larry can get and even with the suspenders,the 74 year old King still makes Katie appear a flaming liberal.
Larry can be reasoned with.I've known him personally for decades.
Couric is beyond reach.
