Wanting one chambered in .22 LR is absurd--there are 436,291 other handguns chambered for that. This would be the only autoloader in current production chambered in .22WMR.

and yet none of them hold more than 10 effing rounds!

That is the point. I think a .22lr is plenty for me... it's the 30 round mag that makes me smile.

I agree with KB. when I first saw the gun (some time ago), I was thinking "interesting action design, interesting chambering, nothing out of the ordin- HOLY CRAP! 30ROUNDS! In a STANDARD pistol magazine!" My only problem with it is the magazine catch being european style.

The word on KTOG was that the mag catch was on the bottom to try and keep the grip manageable. With 30 rounds in there, it's already pretty huge.

I want one!... its a poormans FN 5.7 that should feel the same in recoil and make the same size hole in paper.... good with me.

and if there is a .22lr conversion for it, then i am WAY in on this deal. I hate the fact that all the .22's out there are 10rd mags... its annoying!

Maybe on the 22LR version (if it ever exists) the grip will be just enough smaller to justify adding a mag release at the base of the triggerguard where its supposed to be.

with 30 rounds in a mag, do you really even need a mag release?

of course you need one to make reloading easier, but in a SHTF situation, if 30 rounds doesn't solve the problem, chances are another 30 won't either.

I think it should be a pretty cool gun, and I'm glad to see something so completely unique hit the market. I just wish there was a way they could have introduced a sister gun a the same time, chambered in 22lr. I'd be more likely to purchase a .22lr semi auto that holds 30+1. I'll still be giving the the .22 mag version a close look though.

There's something ridiculously fun about a 22 mag out of a pistol. I've got an AMT Automag II in 22MAG that looks strange, has no real practical use for me, but I enjoy it as much as anything for plinking at the range. There's something about that big muzzle blast and sound to leave a tiny .22 sized hole in the target that just does it for me. 30 rounds of that would be just awesome!

That Full auto PMR-30 looks like a freaking blast!... i love how the stock design holds the magazines too!

This thing is tugging at unsatisfied toy appetites as we all seem to want one but have no logical reason for it.

Ha, that made me laugh.

But it might be a good SD piece. I know its a 22 mag but its 30+1 of it!
The attacker must be amazingly motivated to keep comming after 31 rounds of anything.

I got to fire the PMR-30 briefly, just testing the function, but not for accuracy. The pistol ran really well. Kel-Tec even had a full-auto version with a buttstock available, and I got to play with that a bit as well.

The PMR-30 will be priced around $460 or so, but will likely sell for under 400 bucks at the retail level.

A FULL AUTO VERSION !!!! I WANT THAT!!!!

Poorman's FiveSeven...I like that :) might pick one up if it isn't another RFB type where everyone anticipates it but Kel-Tec doesnt mass produce.

I want one also!! I gentleman at the range was nice enough to let me take his FiveseveN for a test drive Sunday. The PMR would be a fun gun to shoot, although not that cheap.

Thing that is killing me is the 20rd. mag restriction in MD. What will my dealer do? I don't think Keltec will put out 20 rd mags. AARRRGGGHH.

I think Kel-Tec is marketing it as a kit gun for hiking, etc.

I want one. I want it in .22 Mag too. There are too many boringly accurate .22 LR pistols around. I think it looks neat, and I appreciate the low price.

Would be pretty sweet if Kel-Tec would make a matching rifle that took the same mags, too.

I've had two Kel_Tecs a and both were flawless. They are generally small with a lot of plastic, but totally reliable. As for the 22 WMR, it's a really zapper and I think it would be a good competitor for the FN Five-seven. I want one, too.

Yeah it's a .22 Mag that holds 30 rounds. It's also a Kel-Tec, so you'd be lucky if the first round even ejects!
I have owned a few Kel-Tecs and they all worked pretty well with the exception of a 9mm subgun.

My SU16C has been nothing less than outstanding.

had a Grendel it was OK jammed sometimes bought it when it first came out for $225 sold it for twice that, wonder what the price of the keltec will be . it will sound like a 357 when fired well the Grendel did, 30 rounds of 22 mag will do some damage

I've been shooting the heck out of mine.

The magazines get progressively harder to load after about 20 rounds. 20 rounds load fairly easily. Also, don't play with the magazines after they are loaded. Leave them loaded. The cases become indented from pushing against them to load the next round and too much of this might affect how they work.

I was disappointed when I first got the gun out of the box, but it is really growing on me. 31 rounds. Let me repeat that, 31 rounds in the gun is something that has to be tried to know how much fun we are missing with other handguns.

It has been reliable except that the magazine has to be loaded with care otherwise the front of the bullet will be too low in the magazine and the round will not load. I have found that the perfect remedy for this is to use the polymer tipped bullets from Hornady or Remington. Remington has a larger bullet weight and the Hornady is faster.

It is light. Very light. It feels lighter than a loaded LCP.

Did I mention that this is a fun handgun.

I can hardly wait to be able to buy more magazines and I was thinking tonight as I shot a rabbit with it that I need to mount a small laser on the rail.

People keep talking about wishing it was in 22LR. I doubt that will be possible.

There is also a lot of talk of concealing this handgun. It's going to be more of a challange, but I suppose it could be done. It is fairly flat and weighs nothing. Mine has been utterly reliable and I'm currently at about 1000 rounds.

As for the magazine release being on the bottom of the grip, I didn't like it at first but it is easy to get used to and is fast. The only problem I see with it is that if used as a carry gun as some have suggested, it is very easy for someone else to disengage the magazine.

There has been some mention that this is a poor man's FN 5.7. I'm not all that excited about the FN. I've shot them and just ho-hum. The three things that make the PMR more fun than the 5.7 is; 10 more rounds in the grip, a third of the cost, and it is so very very light.

I've been watching this gun for a while. Production is still small and there have been a few teething troubles. Keltec has been very forthright about issues, and will upgrade any pistol. They do have outstanding customer service, but have had quite a few 1.0 version issues with their gun. If I were considering CCW with this pistol, I would wait a while while the kinks are worked out. A quick search of THR will reveal a few threads on this gun.

One thing this pistol does not lack is firepower. And with the relatively low recoil, it might serve someone who is recoil sensitive.

Finally, it should be noted that studies have shown that the lethality (not stopping power) of a handgun is related to the number of rounds that hit the target. Increased strike up the probability that a vital organ is hit.

It would not be my first choice for SD for reasons already mentioned.

But it looks fun.
