Okay. I made two fixes on the gun. I had to file down the bottom of the mag well some to get the magazine to lock in. Yep, from the factory the FACTORY magazine would not lock. After I filed about 1/32" or more of plastic away, ALL my magazines locked and dropped free with no problems including aftermarket mags.

It feels good enough. Pulling the bolt back requires quite a bit of effort. The plastic was molded well except for a gap at the bottom rear of the pistol grip. All parts seem to work as advertised. I did have a problem with bare metal on my cheek so I attached a piece of 'Pac-Skin' to the tube so my cheek is comfy and won't freeze to the tube in winter.

Whatcha think? I decided against the Chrome parts more as a looks thing than anything else. No biggie, I use oil on my guns.

Are those Beretta or S&W mags. I know Iw anted to get one with beretta 92 mags. High caps are cheaper and better also, if and when I get a 92 I might look into a storm as well. Please give a follow-up review on your new sub.

Left-to-right: First one is a KT mag. The body is made for the P11 while the baseplate extension makes it the same lenght as the Stock S&W 59 magazine. Nifty solution.

Second one is unknown, but I think it's a Western Metal Products mag. Doesnt' fit in my P11 but works fine in my 5904 and Seems to fit the Sub-2000 fine.

Third one is a Model 59 mag with a 14 round capacity. I swapped bases for a new 5906 base I had sitting around. It had the old metal base before.

The other four on the bottom are Factory 5906 mags. The one on top of them all is a USA brand (I think) 30-rounder that functions flawlessly in my 5904. Won't fit into my P-11 though. Maybe after September Mec-Gar will make extended capacity mags in addition to 'standard' capacity magazines. Maybe they'll scrap their low-cap dies.

Oh, the Pac-Skin is a super-adhesive backed rubber or neoprene. You just cut it and stick it on. When it's 20 below, you don't want to place your cheek against anything metal or my might just have to urinate on it to thaw it off. That's just NOT going to happen. If you have a Sub-2000 and want a strip of the stuff, I might have some extra I can mail you if you cover postage.

Are there problems reported often with the Glock-mag version of this gun?

Not that I know of, but Glock standard capacity magazines are insanely expensive right now. Heck, I paid $135 each for two 13 round magazines for my Glock 21 about 2.5 years ago.

Nobody reall made any "aftermarket" magazines for them so you've got to get brand-name Glock magazines. Given how new Glock is there's not many of them out there and you end paying an insanely inflated price for them.

It. Is. Disgusting.

Wow, so a p-11 mag with an extended buttplate is basically identical to a S&W 59 mag. Cool trivia. Regular capacity Glock mags are incredibly expensive, although I've seen beretta mags at very affordable prices that work very well in the CX4 Storms (according to www.berettaforum.net ). I've found these at Copes Distributing and I would imagine that they would work fine in the Sub 2000. I have been wondering for a long time on what would be the best magizine configuration on a Sub but I think I might wait till september:)

my GLock version has problems. first it would spit the mag right out of well. i sent it back and had the mag catch replaced. it still misfeeds. the new round gets stuck vertically in front of the chamber. this is with factory glock 10 round mags. i have to send it back again. i might ask them if they'll swap it for a Smith or Beretta version. its very fun to shoot, but its been a little frustrating.

Bobby

Hmm... I've got a .40 S&W version with Glock mags, and it's fed over 600 rounds, mostly Wolf FMJ, with nary a problem. I'm just using the 10-rounders, though. Even those cost $20 a pop.

Smith mags are stupid cheap. I bought a bunch of 17 rounders from ammoclip.com for ten bucks apeice, and bought a couple of the hi-caps at a fun show for 15 apeice.

Badger, congratulations. They're great little plinkers.

Ack, I was edited! Suffice it to say, when you cheek freezes to bare metal, you are in a world of hurt. That's why I put the neoprene skin on there. I apologize for any statements I made that might have offended somebody. Well, how exactly would you suggest removing body parts which have become frozen to gun parts?

S&W mags

Damn thats a great price. They must have made tons of those things before the ban. How reliable are those mags U got, I suppose that means U own a sub rifle right? (sorry if missed that part) If you do own, how reliable are the S&W mags? That would pretty much sell me on that setup as long as reliablity is not a too much of a comprimise.

Sub 2000

I've been looking into getting one of these for a truck carbine. Folded it would easily fit under the seat. How accurate/reliable are these guns?

I can't speak for the 9mm version, but my .40 S&W gun, as I said above, has fired about 700 rounds with never a jam or misfire.

As for accuracy, I'd qualify mine as plenty good enough to get the job done. I shot the targets below offhand, alternating between the left-hand FBI Q target at 50 yards and the 100 yard smallbore rifle target at 25 yards. I fired ten rounds at a time, as quickly as I could get the sights on target, using the shipped plastic aperture rear sight and red plastic post front sight.

i have a beretta version. it's a fun little gun. i got a couple of 30 round mags for $35.00. no problems with the gun at all. oops, the stock's a little short for me. i'm 6'5". it's a good gun to have for those home invasion soda cans. i can nail those suckers at 60 yards no problem. it cycles everything reliably but they say don't use aluminum case(blazers) in it. i think you'll like it.:)

I'm 6'3" and the stock is just fine for me. It's all subjective anyway, I just happen to like the stock. I'm going to try some new polymer-coated wolf in it. We'll see.
