I just purchased a Kel-Tel Sub 2000. I got it chambered in .40 and it will accept Glock Magazines. Normally I stay away from pistol caliber rifles but this one serves my purpose. I like the gun and and I love the way it shoots. It just feels like something is missing to make it an all around great gun.

Any Suggestions?

A red dot to get the sight higher up off the axis would be nice. Its a little hard to shoot with earmuffs on because of the sights.

I love mine, do you got any goodies for it??? I like for mine to fold so I don't really want a red dot or scope.

I have a few that I would suggest...

1.) A couple of big magazines
2.) The Kel-Tec sling
3.) The Kel-Tec rail with Streamlight M3
4.) The Kel-Tec Extra magazine holder
5.) BFG Front sight
6.) BFG tube cover
7.) Hogue Handall
8.) And a briefcase to put it in

For a good demonstration on the sling...

you need a few things; a piece of foam tube covering, for the back steel pipe, so it doesn't beat your face to hell. because of this, your sightline will be way above the sites, so get a holo site or red dot, or someting. Then go to the keltec site, and get two more things; and rear stock extension piece, and a front handguard rail piece. so you can put a laser or light up front....

Consider the buffer tube cover and charging handle cover from www.tacticoolproducts.com (I think I'm remembering the website correctly.) I also recommend the 1" extension (which doesn't add to overall length) that KT sells for the buttplate, as well as their sling and mini-rail. The mag holder is nice but incredibly heavy (it's made of steel; probably should have been high-strengh plastic instead?).

These will take the glock 33 rounders?

The 9mm would. The OP's gun is in .40 though.

I definitely love my Sub-2000. The main thing I didn't like was the trigger, so I did a lot of trigger work on it. I've always intended to make a full guide for the trigger job, kind of like the Neos one in my signature line. I just never really got a round to it.

Besides trigger work, and super polishing the bolt, I added the buffer cylinder, bolt tube cover, and operating handle cover from Tacticool Products. Also the factory stock extension, carry strap, and front rail on which is a folding front grip, to keep the size down small enough to fit in a bag which I foam lined to fit it perfectly.

Actually though , even though I'm personally not a Glock guy.. I'd say the best possible accessory for a Sub-2000 that uses glock .40 mags is a matching Glock 22.

I want one of these. Hexidismal, that looks awesome.

I might have to get one since I have a Glock 22 on the way soon.....

Mine is a G17 magwell, I keep it with 4 x 33 round mags, everything fits nicely in a standard briefcase. I highly recommend the 1" extension and a soft tube cover, mine has the front rail with a light mounted also.

What I wish for is a simple way to mount a red dot in a QR mount so it could still fold.

I'd recommend the following:

Bolt tube cover and operating handle cover from http://www.tacticoolproducts.com

a couple extra mags(maybe you could mod some 33 rounders to fit.40?)

a Houge grip cover(handall?)

and a yard sale laptop case to carry it in.

Mine currently lives in my pickup...minute of whistlepig out to about 60yds(maybe even further for you).

What's missing?

A 10mm sub 2000.

Or a .45 for that matter.

I really like the sub 2000. There is just something I really like about having a carbine with four 33 round mags that easily fits in a computer bag.

That is why I dont like a red dot for them. You lose the ability to fold it up which is so much of the appeal for me. I wouldn't mind a light however.

I like my Sub-2000 in 9MM. I sold my .40 though. It is tough to get your head down enough to see the sights with earmuffs on, but it's dependable, accurate, easy to shoot well, compact,...... What's not to like. I sold my CX4 Storm to help pay for a 9MM AR, but kept the Kel-Tec. :)

There are ways to mount Red Dot sights on them. I have seen a few pics where ingenious folks who have done it.

with a 9mm model, can you hit something at +50yds with much effect?
16 inch barrel right?! that would definetly move a 115gr bullet out a lil farther and still pack a punch?
are these +p rated?

Im thinking of one of theese for my HD collection, but it could double as a nice addition to my bunny takers..

thanks, ip.

Mine shoots out to 200 yards with a bit of a drop in the bullet. This is with 9MM Standard Velocity 115 Grain FMJ S&B or Blazer Brass loads. With the +P, I bet it would be devastating within 50 yards.

These seriously are a fun little Carbine to shoot. I just with that they had a bit of a longer stock so my 5'4" wife isn't hunched over it when she shoots.

lap top bag
companion glock
tube cover
flashlight / laser combo
practice
lots of ammo

mine is decent out to 100 yards
they can take +p+ ammo

on the ktog boards people have done some really cool and some not so mods to this firearm.

MADE IN THE USA and lifetime warranty.. and goes well with glock

i have the 9mm version and its my favorite range gun for the most part....

What's missing?

How about 3 new models that take XD magazines.

But I'd give all that up for one in .45 Winchester Magnum, or any semi-auto carbine in .45 WinMag.

+1!

Yes! A 10mm version using Glock mags (cause they are the cheapest and best available hicap 10mm mags out there) and three new models using XD mags, at least two, as .45ACP doesn't gain so much from a longer barrel as does 9mm or .40S&W.
