That's good news :) Finally seeing some show up @ the LGS. Much better than the scalpers on GB. Let us know if you get one.
I stopped by my LGS this morning to check out the Sub2000, and it ended up following me home. I had a Gen1 that I sold, and almost instantly regretted it, but this newer version is a definite improvement. Can't wait to get it out to the range.

Hey guys I got a quick question about muzzle devices and compatibility with the barrel threads on the Gen 2 9mm versions....

the instruction manual that comes with the gen 2 models shows the 9mm version is actually double-threaded pattern with a 9/16"-24 base that steps down to 1/2"-28 threading at the tip of the barrel. does this actually serve a functional purpose? I have little to no experience with muzzle devices and I guess my main question is whether this will allow me to use a muzzle break/comp with either thread pattern....or if I need to stick with the 1/2"-28 compatible devices.

thanks for the help!

Threading @ ½"-28 is common for 9mm. Kel-Tec has threaded the barrels of the 40 @ a continuous 9/16"-24; the front sight will fit both the 9 & 40 versions of the S2K-G2. You'll need a muzzle brk./comp. threaded ½"-28 to work with the 9. Page 15 of the Gen2 manual has a good illustration of both thread arrangements in Figure C-9.

thanks for the response.

so the other threads(9/16"-24) on the 9mm version only serve to hold the front sight?

also Artofgolf....any opinions/thoughts on a sling system?

Yep on the thread question. As far as slings are concerned, choose what works the best for you. Many out there to pick from.
I prefer Magpul accessories, as they are very high-quality & made in the USA.

The Magpul QD shown below is a M-Lok version that fits the Gen 2 slots; I use it & like it

If you're interested in a single-point sling mount, Tandemkross manufactures a S2K-specific unit that attaches to the collar.
I haven't used that one myself.

Without having the actual part in hand, it's hard to know. That said, IMHO it will not fold & lock if you mounted that Weaver offset on the top pic rail.
However, it might work if you mounted the following (or similar) rail section in the side M-Lok slot of choice on the S2K-G2 fore-end and then attached that offset mount.

Keep in mind that anything attached to the top pic rail will hinder the folding function.

looking at my gun(gen2 9mm) i see a significant, although tiny gap along a portion of the top picc rail(when folded)...certainly large enough to fit something...and when you consider how the female rail slot is naturally recessed and has its thinnest point at the very top and if you noticed, it is also curved that might perfectly sort of fit over the bolt tube...I think it might just work but I can't say if the optic could be in the way.

Some folks install a bolt tube cover to have a comfortable cheek weld for shooting. I found that during the offset installation on my subbie, the RD base would make contact. Hence, a shim was the solution to alleviate the base contact with the collar and covered tube.

It may be a slightly different orientation with the offset mount you have in mind. Let us know how you make out with it.

I just ordered the sight and screw upgrade parts from tandemkross along with the bolt tube cover. I'll have to watch for that.

I love this gun as nothing else I have will fold down and fit in a small gym bag with a magazine pouch. To me, it is an ideal truck gun carbine.

woot I think I finally figured out a solution to our little optic-mount problem....

how about using this:

to mount something like this:

yeah the m-lok to keymod adapter will hopefully serve as a shim to help create the additional clearance needed to fold the gun properly(very similar to your "modified" ;) configuration).

IF this setup will work, then I'm really excited because I no longer have to give up on the idea of adding a padded bolt tube cover(I'm hoping for a Gen 2 version made by Tandemkross)....which I think will be even more useful when using a canted optic.

FYI, you can purchase a rubber bolt tube cover here, you just have to email him after you place the order to inform him you need it for a Gen2.

yeah I already knew about the Tacticool version....but I just liked the look of the Tandemkross better...

Yep, sounds about right. I had to add a 1" riser to make the position of the RD useable for my needs.
It looks like the mount you're considering may solve that problem in addition to the clearance issue.
There may be an added benefit of the QD of the optic rig if desired. The possibilities look good to me. ;)

BTW, who is the manufacturer of that keymod offset mount you mentioned? Gotta link?

sure its made by Midwest Industries Inc(MI) and here is a direct link:

I also wanted to ask you guys if you could foresee any issues with this setup holding zero? For potential clearance issues I guess you could always mount multiple adapters since they offer both 'M-Lok to Keymod' AND 'Keymod to M-Lok' versions....watch the video to get a better idea of their thickness.

Anyways I think I'm going to go ahead and order the adapter and that keymod offset mount I found to go with it so I can get a better idea of the fit/clearance...even though it may be a few more weeks before I can afford to purchase my optic system.

....just found this, the 'G&P One O'Clock Side Mount(GP-MOT009A)':

mot009a.jpg

seated on a top rail to show how flush/low it sits...still, I wonder if their is enough clearance:

DSC05624.jpg

no way it could be this easy(and cheap @ $10), right?

The flush mount on the appendage of the pic rail would allow the subbie to fold with no problem.
However, it doesn't look solid enough for an optic to me. Back to the keymod~M-Lok, I think.....:uhoh:

can you elaborate on why you dont think it would work for mounting an optic? there are 2 set screws on the underside that you can't see in the pictures for securing it on the rail....i figure its good enough for a small microdot which is probably lighter than flashlights.

I couldn't see the set-screws that you mentioned.
If you post a link for the items you're asking questions about, it would give more clarity and the opportunity to evaluate the items in-depth.
It's difficult to give good, relevant responses based on incomplete information.....

That said, it would probably work if set screws can be secured against the rail; keep in mind the pic rail on the S2K-G2 is Zytel... :scrutiny:

yeah sorry about that I'm worried if I don't post a picture directly in the thread, that nobody will respond or give their input....and then I end up forgetting to post the product link.

anyways as for that last cheap mount....i have a feeling the pictures are a little deceptive and the rail mount sits much closer to the picc rail and I'm worried that the base of the red dot will still interfere with folding the gun.
