Does anyone have any experience with the 45 Win mag Grizzly? I think I want one. Have a bunch of ammo, but no pistol. Are there other good options? Do not want a Wildey. Had one, did not like it.

There’s one on GB for a bit shy of $1600. I’ve always heard good things about them. That’s a pretty potent cartridge.

Never have seen one in person though.

I owned a LAR Grizzly and have regretted selling it for years. Fit and finish were great, and it was accurate. The only caution I can give is the grip size. It is not built for small hands.

I think AMT chambered their Auto Mag IV in .45 Win Mag and then later in 50AE (Auto Mag V). However, I don't see those up for sale very often. There is one on GB now.

I saw/ held one in a gun store case ages ago.

It was a real beauty, with a clean exterior look and great target sights.

I did find that the LAR Grizzly grip felt too big to be comfortable shooting a magnum semi-auto for my average sized mitts.

If you find a Coonan .357 grip to be perfect, or even too small, then this won’t be an issue for you :).

An interesting gun and an interesting round for sure!

Stay safe.

Use to shoot one that belonged to a friend, never could pick one up in a price range I could swing, but do have a TC 12" in the round and it will flat smack hogs

I’ve got three of them in 45 Win Mag. I also have a few Wildey’s, one of which is 45 WM. To me the grip on the Grizzly is a lot more comfortable. However, recoil is much more significant because the gas system on the Wildey does a good job at taming it. Because of that I don’t shoot the Grizzlies much as I did when I was younger.

Here are two if the Grizzlies.
