I have a 12ga with a full choke. It can only use 2-3/4" shells. It's a very old gun and shoots very well. It cannot be modified for anything other than a full choke. So far I've only use it for trap shooting. I would like to use it for canada goose. What is the largest size shot I can use without damaging the barrel?

2-3/4" un-changeable full choke... not a good recipe for steel shot at all... bulged barrels look funny, but they really aren't...

you're kinda stuck w/ bismuth, at best. for geese, i've had my best luck w/ bbb steel. i have a friend who swears on f. but you can't shoot steel... so, try some bb bismuth - should give you about the best performance you can get.

Dont risk that old shotgun and choke on steel shot.

Get a inexpensive pump (Rem 870, Moss 500, Win 1200, ect) to hunt geese with (~$200 or less used).
