Hi everyone,

I am looking at possibly picking up the above mentioned case trimmer so my question is this does Anyone have One/what do you think of it would you buy it again?

I have the Sinclair/L.E. Wilson version from Brownells.
Sinclair Ultimate Trimmer and Platform.
It has a nice base and a black micrometer which is more legible.
There is also a Delrin or similar block to tap the cases on.
There is room on the back side for some case holders and accessories such as the inside neck reamer.
I also bought the adapter to use my Milwaukee impact driver.
I’ve had it for about 12 years now and no regrets.

There may be faster and easier trimmers out there but I can guarantee none will be more accurate than my Wilson.

I have a number of the Wilson trimmers, they work great. I might have fewer if I had a micrometer one but that ship has sailed and now I don't even have to make any adjustments.

You really should get the base for it.
I sit and watch tv while I’m trimming.

Creedmoor Sports also makes one.

In reality you can make one with a piece of wood, rubber feet and a couple of these nut inserts.

Your right. The trimmer needs something a little better than a $1.79 piece of Menards wood from their scarp bin. Just ordered the Creedmore base.

Mark me down as another vote in favor of the latest version of Wilson's micrometer adjust case trimmer. I've had a few other trimmers fitted with after market micrometers but none and positive and easy to use as the current one. Also a vote for their current stainless steel version, eleminating the cronic prone to rust of Wilson's past trimmers. I keep a couple set up for whatever I'm working on, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for Speedie's sweet little trimmer also shown here. IMG_6783.jpg

I put mine in a small vice, I don’t use the micro adjust or the thumb lever. I adjust with a feeler gage then leave it set for that length for my br cases . I save enough money with just the basic unit to afford a second one for my 308."

I started with one and it is a quality piece of gear. However, trimming is one of the messiest and most time consuming jobs by the time you trim, chamfer and debur. I wanted something faster and went with a Giraud. It would be interesting to see someone put a cutter on a Wilson that can cut, chamfer and debur. That would be a timesaver (and also accurate).

I don’t disagree that trimming is a labor of love. Heck, truth be told, I have a bunch of those Lee gadgets that are a pin that you screw into a cutter and a shell holder for the case. Quick? Yessir. Crude? Oh heck yes!

It comes down to what application am I reloading for.

I still use them for 5.7x28 and other oddball calibers I can’t find Wilson case holders for.
I believe that Wilson will make you custom case holders if you send them in a few pieces of brass.

+1 on the trimmer you bought.
Please revisit your post and report your experiences.
I updated my 20-year-old Wilson with the micrometer and really like it.

I also use the Lee trimmers.
