Learn to shoot with your off-hand

The relation to this thread is that out of 2300 rounds that were fired in my basic class, over 700 were weak hand. My knees were bruised from holding the weapon between them during one handed reloads. The main lesson that I took away from the class was that I suck with a pistol. My practice routines have been greatly impacted, even after nearly 2 years. I do most of my shooting one handed now, and devote at least 30% of my round count to weak hand practice.

Hey 444, if you want to go to class where you shoot alot, try BlackwaterLodge. The equipment list requested 2500 rounds, I shot 3700; yes, in a week.

:neener:

Ah another fine school on the other side of the country. I would love to go to either of them, but I doubt if it will ever happen.
I do play four dollars a week on the Lotto however, so you never can tell.

I did fire just under 2000 rounds during my Gunsite Basic Carbine class.

Yes, I was planning on taking that course and the Advanced Course, in May (Gunsite Carbine Courses). However, I just got promoted to Sgt (it wasn't supposed to be until July) and alas, as the FNG, I shall be on midnites and unable to attend. However, I may make it in September.

Hey, congratulations. I went through that same process two years ago (promotion, loss of all my seniority in grade, lousy assignment for 11 months...............) but the money from the promotion is what enabled me to start training.
The first course I took was Basic Carbine. I took Advanced last September. Real fun, great instructors.
