Lee Auto Disk measure and Accurate #9

I've tried using AA#9 powder in the Lee PPM and Auto Drum measures, but the binding and leaking is horrible. I figured that an automatic powder dispenser would work, but it's slow and I don't like it.

Most all other powder measure work on the same principle as the two Lee measures I have, but the Lee auto disk is different. I don't care if I can't fine tune it to throw a certain powder charge, so long as it can throw between 12 and 13 grains of AA#9, I'm fine with whatever it is as a means to speed up the time it takes to throw the charge.

Has anybody tried Accurate #9 powder with the Lee Auto Disk? How does it do? Can you get it to throw between 12 and 13 grains?

I have not tried Accurate #9 in my Auto Disc. It leaks every powder that I have tried. I do get accurate drops in that weight range and heavier. I have not had it bind. I just mounted my press where a little leakage is no big deal.

I’m using a Lee .76 for 11.8 grains of 1680 (which is a fine powder) for my .300 BO subs. It’s measuring between 11.7 to 11.9 which is fine for me because I get great groups with 11.5 to 12.0 grains which is still under supersonic out of the 10” suppressed barrel.

It does leak a bit but not enough for me to stop.

Are you using regular Auto Disk or Pro Auto Disk with elastomer wiper at bottom of hopper?

I can live with some leaks, but I can't live with inconsistent throws and the binding that makes it a real chore.

The Lee disc system leaks smaller grain powder (like little balls or fine cut extruded) much worse than larger extruded powders. I find most of the rotating chamber type measures work better and I really like how the Dillon reciprocating measures handle the problem.

I normally like Lee products.
