So I only have Lee moulds and am very happy with them, I want to add a Keith design to my .44 mould and have to look else where. I have decided on either Arsenal (most likely) or Accurate in a brass mould. With my Lee moulds a wet sponge is my friend, they are all 2 cavity and heat up quick especially with heavier grain bullets. For those of you using brass, I know they maintain heat better so does that transfer to more consistent casts for you during a session without having to cool the mould? Thank you, Darrin.

Targa,
I'm a relative newbie when it comes to casting. But I have been getting into the brass moulds and have found them to a bit more consistent than some of the aluminum moulds. I'll be honest, my first casts were with iron/steel moulds and they were trouble free casts. But when I tried the aluminum moulds, I had trouble with my first couple of sessions. I wasn't getting the temperature up high enough for them. The brass have worked pretty well from the beginning and it became easy to cast with them as well.

I have an Arsenal AL mould, but no brass. The brass moulds I have are mostly Mihecs and one NOE. I don't have any Accurate moulds yet.

My brass are 3, 4, and 6. The 3 are hollow point versions. 4 cavity is a good number. On the 6 I have to get the cavities filled quickly or I have one that cools too quickly.
If you have an option for hollow point, go for it, as it will give you the ability to have HP when you want or normal when you don't.
