I'm not really buying that someone from Lee called it a crappy product. Sounds like someone is a little frustrated.
first off my friend im not very easily frustrated im the type who is a little ocd and if something isnt the wayit should i like to find out why..everybody and every comment here all has good merit..but i found none to explain my problem 100%..at that point i called lee factory..for you to not know me and to immediately doubt what i say and basically call me a liar is rather wrong on your part..i suggest you may want do have a reality check or anger management control for yourself before you point at someone else..all i did was quoye almost word for word what was told to me by a lee engineer..this is who i was told iwas speaking to..do i know for a fact he was a engineer?? no..but he was from lee because thats where i called..next if im trying diligently to find my problem making up a story or plain (lieing) isnt gonna get me no where so i have no reason to..and dont feel as if i should have to even think im having to defend myself to someone whom doesnt know me nor do i know them..so if you have nothing good to say to or about me..then please dont say nothing !!!!!
for the rest of you folks that have worked very hard at helping me with my problem im having i appreciate everything you have said and done with this issue.. it has helped a lot and means a lot to me to know i can ask for help on a subject and get this much input..
i cant thank you all enough so all i can do though is to say thank you very much..

If it really is a "crappy metering device not designed very well" how come so many of us are using it with great success? Maybe he meant that they didn't design it with an in-hopper baffle.

Matt
to be honest im not sure what he really meant by that but thats pretty much word for word what was said..he did spend another 30 minutes or so on the phone with me trying to eliminate some issues that they have had in the past..as of now there is a new one being shipped to me because there is a chance there is a issue with it because he stated that most times these work within tolerances pretty well for most people but they get calls about them everyday with this exact problem..when the new one arrives i will try to make it repeat the throw as close as possible and i will let everyone know the outcome of it..
also last night i loaded about 65 shells of 338 lapua having it throw a little heavy and scooping out until the amount i wanted and did notice the more i used it the closer it was trying to repeat as long as you loaded it and then throwed it the same way everytime..meaning dont thump it but load the cylinder and let it set a few seconds before the throw and then throw it slowly and then load it slowly without bumping the stops each time..but it was still measuring as much as .7 tenths of a grain different at times and at times hit dead on..but still required i check every one because never the same 2 times..also the +/- tolerances it has are around 1% which at 90 grains is .9 grains..so it very well may be doin all it was designed to do. but as i said when the new one arrives ill update as to how well it repeats...
and agin thanks for all the input and help

Good to hear they are sending you a new one to try. I have had excellent service from Lee. Good luck with it.

thanks very much..i hope it does as well. from what folks hve told me it seems to be a good device to have..im sure im not operatng it properly is one thing but after as many ways and things as ive tried now i cant help but believe it has a problem..
none the less thanks for the well wishes..
hope you have a good weekend..

Anger management? Get ahold of yourself.

I'm sorry but there is no way a Lee rep called the PPM a piece of crap.

I actually do lots here to help people, on all my other forums as well. I can spot a BS statement from a long ways too.
opinions are like ass holes..everybody has one..this case yours stinks..
as i said before if you dont have nothing good to say..dont say nothing..
you dont even know who i am but ready to call me a liar..
you might need a reality check if you think your all that..cause i promise your not..
I WOULD CERTAINLY APPRECIATE IF YOU NOT EVEN REPLY TO ANOTHER POST OF MINE I DO NOT NEED ANY THING YOU HAVE TO OFFER ESPECIALLY YOUR ATTITUDE!!!

Ijnowell just stated what everyone else is thinking. Remember all the folks that tried to help and not come out with vulgar language. He has the right to post anywhere as do you.
you would think that if that is what everyone else is thinking that is what would have been said..ive got some pretty good feedback on things to check from the folks here..hadnt had none say i was lieing as in this case..and i do not appreciate it..this is one of them deals when he sits behind a screen and talks crap its called keyboard kahunas..cause i promise only one time if in front of me and there would be no more..but were behind a keyboard and screen..but you know im a 50 year old man and dont have to explain one single thing i do..but im man enough to stand up for what is wrong and what is right..thats one reason were all free today..cause folks that stand up for whats right..if theres others that thinks thats right then it will all be on you..as of this point im gonna do my very best to get out of this forum cause theres to many others without the attitude to even think of this kind of bs taking place..so i cant fix it or i already would have you can bet that..but you will never see me here again never read another post unless you stalk me to another of my more welcomed forums..
hope you all have a wonderful day , week , life , SEEYA

Way to have a complete meltdown and alienate people from helping you.

I loosened my Lee Perfect Powder dispenser, and ran dry graphite lube through it, letting the graphite fall out the side. Would tighten slowly after running the dry graphite lube through until no more would come out. Then continued to tap the dispenser until I got all of the graphite out.

Ever since I've done that I haven't had a problem. From time to time, I'll loosen and spray some dry graphite lube that is in a wet media that dries up quickly, turn the handle then tighten.

I agree that a variance of a few tenths to a full grain or a little more on an intended charge of 90 grains is not a big deal assuming you are not at or exceeding the max charge in the first place. Which Lee powder measure are you using, the stand alone "Perfect Powder Measure" or the on-the-press "Pro Auto Disk." I use the Lee Pro Auto Disk and I get very consistent charges with the powders I use from 4.0 grains up to 30+ grains. I have never loaded anything requiring more powder than that using that powder measure. If you want to get the charge exactly at 90 gn and the measure you have just won't do it (after you work with it for a while and get it broken in and conditioned), you have two choices: 1) set the meter so it consistently throws a little light and then use a trickler to top it off on the scale. Downside is it slows your process down. Upside is it is a cheap solution. 2) Buy a powder dispenser scale combo like the RCBS Chargemaster. Upside is it is awesome, one of the best reloading investments I have made. Downside is it is expensive.
Chargemaster 1500...you cant go wrong on that decision. I measure everything to include muzzleloader charges in that thing!
