Went and laid the $$$ down, filled in all the blanks legally -- even the new, post-HomelandSecurityAct one -- and waited for my temp to be handed to me. Nope! Seems that since I answered truthfully to, "Have you ever been under psychiatric care by a professional" or such like, and since I didn't want to perjure my self and my future rights, I had marked "yes" because every 6 months since Viet Nam, I attend group sessions at the V.A. No PTSD or anything. But when I asked my Dr for a statement that it is O.K. for me to get the permit (not be allowed to carry which is a 2A matter, far beyond doctors) she declined. My Congressman was visited on my way back from the hospital. I pay him to make big waves. I'll let you know what happens. I'm not pissed-off yet - just feeling a bit "pissed-ON." They sure want our guns ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Downright Dumb

You can be under psychiatric care for many reasons that wouldn't relate to carrying a handgun. You have in my opinion an anti-gun shrink who has never been in harms way let alone combat. I remember that time well, from '64 to '72 and beyond. Uniforms & short hair would bring you grief in our nation's capitol where I worked. I remember the treatment, marches, demonstrations heaped upon young men by those that "bought" their way out of the draft and it still burns me.:fire:
