I was reading the back of some "Less-Lethal" ammo and found it quite amusing.

Despite the the term "Less-Lethal" being hilarious, and the "do not shoot" zones being equally hysterical, read the underlined portion: "Will not cycle semi-automatics."

What good is it then?? You can't aim for the easiest areas to hit AND it won't cycle your pistol!?

Way back when I first purchased a carry gun, I considered carrying one "Less-Lethal" round. My thought process was, if I had to go to court, I can say that I truly didn't want to kill anyone, which is why I carried one round of Less-Lethal ammo. But the BG just wouldn't stop. Which is why the BG had 9 bullets in him.

Of course I had no intention of just using the less-lethal round and waiting to find out if the BG was going to stop. That rubber ball was going to be immediately followed by one or more JHP rounds.

Thankfully, after a very short period of consideration, I decided that I would never carry one of those rounds because I didn't like the idea of my first round not having the most lethal potential it could.

And as the packing proves, it is more than just a lack of potential, it is asking to get yourself killed by the BG.

do not carry less lethal.

if somethings worth shooting over, its worth REALLY shooting over.

anyway, yes "less lethal" has killed alot of people

Ethereal: "....or the lawsuit and story behind them having to highlight the "lower" section of the silhouette on the packaging!"

YUP. Behind nearly every silly policy or ridiculous exception, there's a funny story, often involving personal injury and civil litigation.

In the immortal words of Johnny Carson after the infamous "tomahawk toss" -- "Ouch."

....or the lawsuit and story behind them having to highlight the "lower" section of the silhouette on the packaging!

Apparently that section of the anatomy (I presume male in this case) is deathly vulnerable to rubber balls impacting the area at high velocity.

There is a lady at my university who does research on less lethal ammo (bean bags and such). The campus police department bought her three 37mm launchers and a bunch of shotguns to play with. They have an arsenal that would make us gun people jealous sitting in a lab somewhere on campus.

Oh I should have been an engineer.

Using a gun for anything other than lethal force is a really bad idea. It can get you killed, and if it doesn't it will most assuredly land you in court. If it's worth shooting, it's worth actually shooting. If it's not worth shooting, you shouldn't be shooting it with ANYTHING.

Yes. S&W, Ruger, Taurus, and Charter (there may be others that I don't know off the top of my head) have all made, or still make, 9mm revolvers.
