Old Dog

No knife, just a kindred greeting from one highly polished stainless steel Ruger to another!

Will have to look for a knife that might go with it.

I'll chime in with a few:

.41 and Master Hunter.jpg

.41 Magnum Redhawk and a Cold Steel Master Hunter...

.44 and Craftsman.jpg

629 Mountain Gun .44 with a Craftsman folder that my Grandfather used to process deer, turkeys and dove/quail for ages...

.45 and Ka-Bar.jpg

Springfield 1911-A1 Loaded .45 with a USMC Ka-Bar reproduction that a Marine vet friend gave to me...

9mm and Recon Tanto.jpg

My duty Glock 34 9mm and Safariland paddle with a Cold Steel Recon Tanto I carried for a while on SWAT/SRT gigs...

.38 and Cheetah Cub.jpg

A nickel S&W M-49 .38 Spl. and a Case Cheetah Cub for pocket carry...

.380 and Newt Livesay.jpg

And an LCP II with a Newt Livesay neck-knife with a paracord handle wrap for warm weather EDC.

Stay safe!

That's quite a collection.

Some of the knives have personal value. Rick Hinderer sent me a big care package along with my purchase XM18 folder in Iraq. I inquired about up-and-coming knife maker Andy Roy and his Fiddleback Forge knives; he sent me (gratis) one of his very first handmade knives, which is the Nessmuk design with my Grandfather's J.C. Higgin's Ranger .22 revolver. I carried that Mad Dog PATAK on four different continents and a few combat deployments; I also carried my Randall #15 during my first deployment to Iraq. I'm also a big advocate for Emerson Knives, and have carried them since Benchmade's first collaboration in the early 90's...they just work for me, but Ernie Emerson was quite gracious with my son when we met him at the Blade Show which was a memorable event. Both guns and knives provide as much memorable value as intrinsic value, and not always necessarily equal to monetary value...

You've got some very nice gun/knife combos going on there! Especially liked the Model 49 with the Case Cheetah Cub for pocket carry!

The Chertah Cub sits in the door of my car so I can drop it in the pocket when I get out...the thing is sharp as hell, I put a nice gash in my finger carelessly opening up a package at the office a while back :(...

The 49 no-dash belonged to an FBI Agent friend of mine who bought it as a back up when he was a cop in Georgia.. but the FBI went away from .38 revolvers so he sold it to me about five years ago. It’s as clean as a whistle, I bet he didn’t put 100 rounds through it. Sometimes you get a lucky find :).

I have a custom fat-blade Tanto that I use for operations now, the Recon Tanto was just a tad large for my liking. I’ll post a pic of that when I’m back from the desert .

Stay safe!
