Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro. Yes, it's a single action, striker-fired .45, but it reverts to double action in the event of a FTF to give a double (or triple) strike capability. Once it fires, it goes back into single action mode.

1955 Hi-Standard Sentinel R-101, 9-shot .22LR
That High Standard... Haven't seen one of those around my neck of the woods in 4 or 5 years... Fun guns. Was lucky enough to bag a few squirrels with one back when my uncle had his.

Kind of a cool story about that gun... My Dad taught me to shoot with one just like it. We shot that little pistol for years. Thousands of rounds later, when I was about 20 years old, it finally broke. The top strap fractured and popped right off. Sadly, there was nothing to be done about it. I really missed that little revolver. Fast forward 25 years to 2019 and my Dad presented me with a gift... He had found an identical Sentinel in a pawn shop and bought it for me as a Christmas gift. For some reason, my Dad had even kept the leather holster he bought for the original gun. That holster had sat empty for 25 years and it finally had a use again. It was like getting a piece of my childhood back!

Equal parts;

ATF
Mineral spirits
Lamp oil
Acetone

Been around for 40? years. Handguns don't really test cast all that much. Varmint rigs with screaming hot cast loads are where my heart really is. In anycase,ER and cast go together like PB&J.

Interesting mixture. In the automotive world, a 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone is a little known secret for rust penetration.

Why the mineral spirits? The acetone provides the solvent base and the lamp oil provides the lubricity. And ATF is just basically a detergent.

I dont usually like newer S&W revolvers, but that 629 is pretty sharp!
Thanks! Both of the PC's in this post are brand new to me as of this week. I also believe the attention to detail of the newer S&W's is not on par with that 686-4 that I have. But I will have to say that if they shoot as smooth as the trigger and action feel, I will be a happy happy man. I'll be putting rounds down range here soon trying to find a hunting load for the 629.
