I came across this little device while researching AR-15 parts for a rifle that I would like to build.

I read that it reduces the apparent noise for the shooter, but to what degree? Is it significantly quieter than a bull barrel?

Has anyone noticed a positive or negative effect on accuracy, if there is any difference at all?

How big is it in comparison to other compensators? I read a comment somehere that it "looked like a silencer," but I'm guessing that it was probably someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Also consider the Noveske Krink FH.

I have one of these on an 11.5" upper and it VERY MUCH reduced the noise and concussion from the shooters perspective.

Same basic idea from what I gather but the Levang appears to be bigger which may affect the handling of the rifle.

The thinking though seems to be that the longer the barrel the less difference they all make. The general feeling is they are great for shorty barrels but on standard length not much changes.

that's the levang linear comp. it's not very big. pretty much flash-hider sized

Gingerbreadman, I have one on a Keltec PLR-16. It made it so quiet I shot it (a few rounds) without ear protection and it wasn't bad at all. I've only played around breaking the gun in, but a friend who builds AR pistols tells me they spread the group a bit, but the lack of blast in the face makes for a fun shooting gun. I had to make a simple wrench to tighten the thing right.
Hope this helps.

I have both the Noveske and the Levang on 7.5" uppers. I like them both. I thing the kx3 does a little better job directing the blast forward but it is also about $100 more expensive. You can't go wrong with either one.
