Leverguns are awesome, reliable, look pretty benign, but a good .357 magnum levergun carbine is great for everything from hunting deers and even black bears and is great for defense work too. A perfect companion to a .357 magnum revolver, the rifle makes things more accurate and has more power.

For most of us nothing at all.

If you think there's something wrong with them then they are not the gun for you.

What's wrong wit lever guns ??

They are the heaviest actions all else being equal.
They are the most complex and least reliable.
The least accurate.
Most aren't capable of shooting anything but low pressure ammo.
Those with tube magazines are restricted to RN or flat nose bullets with poor aerodynamics.
The most expensive of all repeaters to manufacture.
Those with tube magazines are the slowest to reload.
2nd slowest action for repeat shots, only slightly faster than a bolt rifle.
The easiest to have an AD, especially when unloading.

Other than that they are perfect. But despite their flaws I grew up on Saturday morning Westerns and I still like them.

I also grew up on TV westerns. It's the only way I can explain the unencumbered enjoyment I get from handling lever rifles.
