Does anyone have any recomendations for a light laser combo for a G17? The gun will not be for carrying and will be more of a nightstand gun. Does anyone have any recomendations?

Thanks

I have a streamlight M6 laser/tac light for sale.

Comes with box but no batts. Used them for my surefire that didn't sit in my safe.
M6 is immaculate.

A super high quality laser/light combo that's not a cheap import.

IMHO, using a light attached to the gun gives your attacker a perfect night target. Just shoot at the light. There's either a brain or heart behind it, depending on the stance.

A trick I was told by my LEO friend long time ago was to hold the flashlight in left hand, outstretched up and to the left as far as you can comfortable hold it. This way if they shoot at the light, they will miss your vital organs, you may get hit in the hand.

Yep, Wanderling, I was taught the same when I went thru the academy...good maneuver when walking in the open searching for a bad guy that may be armed...

Glock has a laser light combo that you can set to work with one or the other or both when you activate it...got one on my G17 that sets by the bed...yep.

IMO, the only three to consider are

Streamlight TLR 2
Insight M6X LED
Surefire X400 (insanely expensive)

I like the latch bar design on the M6X the best

I have a TLR-2S on my nightstand gun (G22). It's been set up this way for over a year and I have no complaints:

If I had it to do over again I'd probably get a green laser like the Viridian X5L, or a light only model like the Surefire X300. Still, the Streamlight works well enough that I feel no urgent need to replace it.

I've got an m6x on my 34. Also a spare light next to it. A couple of things to keep in mind with a rail mounter light/laser:

Anything you cover with the light is also covered by the muzzle. Maybe not the best thing if that bump in the night was little Suzy getting a late night snack.

Batteries can and do go dead. Check and replace occasionally.

Practice with it.
