I swung by the WAC gunshow this weekend and picked up a bag of Hornady's 185-grain jacked semi-wadcutter bullets to reload using my brand spankin' new .45 ACP dies. (The details for the bullet can be found on Hornady's web page.)
Unfortunately, my only reloading manual is an RCBS book. While it lists a load for a 185-grain jacked semi-wadcutter, the Speer bullet specified is a lot longer than Hornady's bullet; if I went by the Speer numbers, the bullet would be seated so far out of the case that it wouldn't chamber properly. Alternately, I could seat the bullet so that the shoulder just clears the case mouth, but then it's sitting a lot farther back in the case than the Speer bullet, which will increase the pressure.
I don't want to buy the entire Hornady reloading manual for just one bullet, so could someone who owns the manual either post or PM me the load information for the round? I just want the OAL recommended by Hornady and the max and min load data (with measured velocity) for Bullseye and Unique.
Thanks for any help you can offer. I'm looking forward to loading these bullets into a nice, light target round that cuts clean holes in paper.
