My local gun shop & indoor shooting range just reopened today after a six month remodeling that was supposed to only take 3 months. The remodel turned what was a nice local shop & range into something that looks like it belongs in Beverly Hills instead of Arizona. A nice assortment of black plastic and pink plastic and green plastic and I think I also saw some orange or purple stuff. You can even buy color coordinated gun rugs. They are planning on adding NFA stuff, including full auto sales and range rentals, but I don’t think they have their class 3 license yet. Jacked the FFL transfer fees from $35 to $50. Not too sure how that will work for them since all the other local shops are $30 or $35.
I’m not too sure about the range operations. The range is for all calibers and includes both hand guns and rifles even though it’s only a 15 yard range. Use requires signing a release of liability and range rules sheet and there’s a video viewing area with a GOA safety video running on a constant loop. Not sure if viewing the video is mandatory or not. I’m not sure, but I think the liability and rules sheet signing in entered into their computer and may be a first visit only thing, but not sure. Video monitoring cameras are on the shooting line that display on big screen TVs in the store. I’m going to reserve my opinion of being treated like a 10 year old until I actually use the range.
