Stopped in at the LGS today to have a look around they had some nice stuff, but for some reason this 1860 in 36 cal. kept calling to me. I played with it a bit and then it asked me to take it home. It was priced $145 and with tax it would be $164. I asked if the price was firm and was told that they would have to check with the boss. After a few minutes the clerk came back and said make an offer. I offered $145 and got the gun.

I’m not familiar with Replica Arms or when the gun was made

I think it was dropped once.

Here’s a pic I took at the shop. I may go back and get another one. The were all priced $145

It's from the 1960's. Specifically, 1969, from the "XXV" date code. Here's what a posting on the Gun Broker forum has to say:

Replica Arms started out in El Paso, Texas with the 1847 Walker. It was later bought out and moved to Marietta, Ohio. It was eventually bought out by Navy Arms. These will be marked Replica Arms Ridgefield NJ. During the transition period you will find both the Navy Arms name and the Replica Arms logo on the revolver. They were manufactured by Armi San Marco, Uberti, and Pietta at different periods.

Yours was made by Uberti because of the Uberti logo on the frame.

Thanks for the info guys. Black powder guns are not my strong point.
In the last photo there is a 1860, or 61 with a fluted cylinder , second from the right and a Rogers and Spencer third from the right. I’m thinking of going back and get one or the other.

The revolver third from the right looks like a Rogers & Spencer. You might give that one a closer look and try the trigger pull if the shop will allow it. The R&S replica is well-known for an excellent pull right out of the box. I have one myself and can vouch for it. Also, if I am not mistaken they are becoming desirable items because they are good shooters. The only thing I don't quite care for is the fact that the R&S has no safety notches or pins, pretty much requiring an unloaded chamber for holster carry. Doesn't bother me since I only punch paper with mine.

Even if the R&S isn't your cup of tea, I'd say grab it for resale. I sure would if I was in your neck of the woods.:D

Yes snag up the Rogers & Spencer for sure.
The Spiller and Burr is also one you don't see every day and a bargain at $145
you also need to get the pocket pistol...
That "Remington" looks like a Whitney to me, so you need that too.
Offer him $600 for all five and you could double your money on Gunbroker if you ever wanted to.

Very nice 1861. I have two, a military type like yours I've had for 25 years, and the civilian one without the 4th screw for shoulder stock and with brass TG and bs. Oh....somewhere I have a Pietta version with an incorrect 8" barrel.

Very nice.
I can see a Python in the glass case below the bp revolvers. Is it $145.00 too?
I think it was just a little bit more.

1st one on the right looks like an 1862 pocket police that and the Rodgers and Spencer are money makers at that price.
It’s the roughest one. It looks to be a kit gun and the grip frame is not fitted good.
I’m going to Alabama in the morning so, I may have to go back on Monday to buy the Rogers & Spencer and the fluted Colt.

Congrats on your Uberti 1861 Navy, $145 is a great deal.
From left to right:
1. 1861 Navy .36 caliber.
2. 1858 Remington .36 or .44 caliber.
3. Spiller & Burr .36 caliber.
4. Rodgers & Spencer .44 caliber.
5. 1860 Army with fluted cylinder .44 caliber.
6. 1862 Pocket Police .36 caliber.
Edit #2 could be a Whitney .36. If so, it's a fairly rare revolver.
Any or all of those revolvers would be a great deal at $145, assuming they all funtion reasonably well. Heck, $200 ea. would be a great deal. I think I'd have to buy them all.

I'd at minimum grab these 2:

3. Spiller & Burr .36 caliber.
4. Rodgers & Spencer .44 caliber.

#5 would be tempting as well.

The early Italian reproductions have become collectible in themselves, especially if in excellent condition. They represent an investment opportunity. One advantage is that they are subject to minimal regulation (no federal regulation), and are unlikely to be the subject of regulation in the future. They should be part of an investor's portfolio alongside more modern guns.

I own two R&S's and I paid quite a bit more than $145 for each. I also have one of each of the rest, but at $145 per piece, think I'd made the guy an offer for the lot. My three sons would have had some nice future Christmas gifts.

Well, I’m on my way home from the Alabama CMP store. Picked up two M1s for $1625. I’ll start a topic no them tomorrow.
I’ll try and go by the gun shop tomorrow and see what kind of deal I can get on the rest.

Gunny

I'm with drobs (and anyone else): get the Rodgers and Spencer and the Spiller and Burr! Looks like some vintage S&W revolvers on the lower shelves as well.

Is that a "buy and travel" for out of staters. Your avatar indicates such. The M1's I'm referring to.

Would seem smoke poles, Cap and Ball revolvers in particular are somewhat scarce items at the LGS's here in Florida. Even a very large gun show such as the Palmetto show in March past has few on display. One of the largest dealers in the state, Shoot Straight, with its 20 to 30 + tables had not one used one and only Uberti 22's new. Of the smaller dealers I saw only one 1858 Navy.

Hey Gunny, how about some hints about what you got today? I mean long gun or handgun? If long gun then rifle or shotgun; if handgun then revolver or semi auto? Don't leave us waiting in suspense!
