Well, it's not an either/or--plenty of YT channels out there.
With all kinds of people enjoying what they do.
From Matt at Demolition Ranch, to Kirsten Joy Weiss, to Mike at Bloke on the Range, to Mae at CRsnal (and how can you not like it when Mae really smiles after shooting some cranky old historic firearm?)
Mind, the other thing that can be hard to appreciate is the effort all the YT content represents.
What you see is often only about 50% of all the video footage taken. Nor the hours fighting cranky video editors or splicing audio in. Or agonizing on breaking down and buying both a good, professional video editor suite, and decent microphones. Or of finding good graphics stuff to make the channel look good. Or actually planning out, in editing, so the video has an Intro, the meat of it, then an Outro.
Then, there's the necessary interaction with your subscriber base. Which will include trolls and haters as reflexively as day follows night. Oh, and you have to police the spam in the Comments, too.
It's the sort of thing that takes work and cuts into time for going shooting.
