I'm looking for a good .22MAG semi-auto rifle to serve as my truck gun/anti-terrorist sniper rifle (I think the birdhouse-smashing, duck-chasing, roof-eating squirrels around here are in al-Quaeda...:cuss: ). Something I can put a good 4x scope on & engage those :cuss: Hezbola rodents at 200yds max. I'm not looking to spend Anschutz-like prices, and I'm not interested in a .223 or any centerfire rifle (I have my reasons...;) ).

Who makes the best .22MAG semi?....

Marlin...
Ruger...
Remington...

...or am I missing a good one?

Thanks in advance...:D

ZKM 611

Here's one critter you may find interesting

ZKM 611

Don't know about the dealer but the rifle is Czech and the ones I have seen appear to be well made. Real metal and wood instead of the polymer parade of new designs.

22 mag semiauto

Couldn't agree more. Bought the Brno ZKM 611 about two years ago (had never seen one up until then) for three hundred new. Had been sitting on the dealer's rack somewhat hidden along side the other 22 rimfires. This is one of my favorite rifles. Its has an all forged receiver with excellent metal to wood fit and amazingly is a break down rifle. Fit and finish is beyond anthing comparable in the 22 semiauto class except for customized rifles. It puts the Ruger semi 22 mag to shame. Functions flawlessly. Only part not blued steel or wood is the buttplate. Only flaw is somewhat mushy trigger which takes getting use to point of release. Millet makes rings for it and with a 4X Leoupold scope its a knock out. Is not made by CZ, importers have chaned over the past years and its not readlily available and can sometimes be overpriced. It is factory sighted in for Winchester Super X 40 grain at the factory for fifty yards with the standard iron sights. Came with five round magazine, also a ten round available but expensive at $45. Buy one you will be happy.

That BRNO looks nice. They have a good reputation. A Ruger 10-22 mag with a series of do it yourself part replacements, or the highly regarded Volquartsen (sp?), which is a high end 10-22 clone. I think they start at around $700.
