I find that Shoot straight has great prices, but only at the gun shows, I have called them on several guns and they were over MSRP, on the phone, I hav bought at least 6 guns from them at the shows over the years. He will actually lose money just to make the sale at the shows, when the LCP came out 8 or so years ago, he sold me one for 259.00 when everyone was getting 3-400. He did it to spite another dealer who had one for $269.00.
Pompano Pawn is always expensive, and I have dealt with him several times, he used to be cheaper about 10 yrs ago.
Lotus is ridiculous, you will spend $3000.00 on a Desert Eagle and 2000 on a 1000 dollar Colt. Same with the PPQ and CX P01 at 7+, they are undoubtedly the highest priced store I ever shopped in, "I have a friend who likes to go there so he can tell you what he spent on a $600.00 dollar Taurus millennium that should be half as much.
Gunslinger is ok, but never has stock in handguns I am looking for, like PPQ's CZ's, P30's, I find that most , "except Lotus", carry the same 10 guns, Rock Island, Glock, Ruger LCP and LCR, and maybe an M&P and some 1911's in the $5-600 dollar range, and also a few Kahrs.
The guy from Pompano wanted $650 for a used PM9, with no night sights. I also use Buds as a measuring stick, if it's within 50 dollars of buds I will buy it in the store, but not an extra 100-200.
I got a call on the CCP from "Drury", who I must have clicked on an ad for the CCP 6 months ago. He got them in for a fair price, 469 or someware near that, I would bet all of these guys will be asking 600 + for the gun in a few weeks. I don't begrudge people for making money, but don't tell me your making 5% on a gun and I am asking for it for less than you paid, "when I know what you paid". The Internet seems like the only way to go now a days. I had no problem buying a Glock 30 S, last month because the gun was priced at $540, no haggle, it had sat there for 6-8 months at over $600. People are getting more savvy about what guns cost now than a few years ago, and many stores resent it.
It's like car sales, they come in with the factory invoice and know what the dealer paid before he even starts. I did that with a new Optima Turbo, the manager came over and said you get the "special" price, because you went online and used "True Car", before coming in. It saved me a couple thousand over the lowest price they would give me, and they still made plenty.
Just give the customer the MSRP, "at least" instead of 100- 1000 over MSRP.
