Looking for a Remington 700 barrel tenon die or chase

Unless the threads are very deformed, you can clean them up satisfactorily with a triangular file of a size that will come close to the bottom of the thread grooves. Line up your file stroke with the angle of the thread and follow the groove around a few degrees.

Another tool that is handy is a set of thread files, available from Amazon and other supply houses.

Just got a note from 4D. They'll have a chase die available next week. I will probably order a set of files, too.

Here works IF the end of the threads are intact. IF not, I like to use the JME Innovations 2-piece style dies that can be applied in areas in good shape and work the die off the end of the fastener to restore them. There are other mfg.'s of these style dies. Screen Shot 2023-04-01 at 5.30.45 PM.png IMG_6786.jpg
