Howdy all -
I just picked up an older Winchester Mod. 94, and I was hoping someone could give me some info on it:
I know that it was made in 1981, from the serial no. on the rifle. I was looking for something more specific, like the particular name of the model. Here are the specs:
Mfg. in 1981
Winchester Mod. 94 in 30-30
33 1/2" long
Barrel is 16" long
Straight stock, with a straight butt plate (hard plastic)
receiver has the saddle ring on the left hand side.
Magazine capacity appears to be 5+1 ( I can't seem to stuff anymore than that into the magazine)
I picked it up with the older Weaver scope, and the receiver side mount rings. All in all, I paid $450 for it out the door, and the more I look at it, the more I love it.
Here are a few pics, as well as the gratuitous "brush cutting" 30-30 shot. I had some 30-30 reloads which I had loaded up for my Marlin, but it has a finicky hammer spring, and four of them didn't go bang when I went 'click'. So I popped one into the 94, aimed at the base of the aspen tree out back, and before I realized there was about a 1" pine sapling in front of it, it had cut it down...
Appreciate all the help in advance!
