I recently got my hands on an older model 12 20 gauge (1914) I'm feeling this gun may have been a custom order as it has some not so common characteristics ( 20 gauge/ solid rib /25 inch barrel modified choke /checkered forearm and receiver/ 13 inch LOP/ looks to be upgraded wood )
looking to see where I can get some quality information on it other than general info via Blue book etc etc does anyone have a contact to

There were so many M12's that were customized after the fact that it would be hard to tell 100% if it was factory done. Simmons ribs were extremely common aftermarket add-ons, and they did some work for Winchester as well on barrels. Pictures would be nice as well as the first few digits of the serial #, like for example 2031XXX. Put X's in place of the last 2-3 numbers.

added some pics serial# 5digit-3711X. The picture of the 3 guns the gun I'm referencing is the bottom one

the checkering looks like what was on a tourament grade 12ga i had, but i can,t be sure. the solid rib looks right, and most likly it has a 2.5" chamber. eastbank.

im pretty positive its 2 1/2 thinking it may have been a custom order with the 13 in lop was wondering if anyone knows of Winchester keeping records to confirm it
