Hello,
Recently purchased a Browning 1911-22 rimfire 1911 and after firing a few hunfred rounds decided to field strip and clean it. Upon reassembly I noticed that the fit between the barrel and the barrel bushing is much looser than other 1911 style guns that I have. Is this loose fit common on this model gun? I'll be grateful for all replies.

Probably is.

They don't advertise it as a Match Grade gun.

Its a little loose so it works with anything you shoot in it.

rc is correct. I have one, and it's loose as you describe. Given the tiny sights and the heavy trigger pull, the bushing fit is the least of things I dislike about this little pistol. It's cute, it's fun to shoot, but I'm lucky to keep my shots in a paper plate at 25 yards.

Thanks for the replies. After reassembling I thought I left out a part or assembled it wrong. You're right about the small sights. I'm not a good shooter and can honestly say that most of my guns are more accurate than I am but I don't know if that applies to this one. I also have a Buckmark which seems to be better but the Buckmark has a longer sight radius so it's not a fair comparision. Perhaps practice with this gun will make me a better shooter. Thanks again.
