Just bought a sig 1911 22. Noticed today that the barrel is rubbing against the barrel bushing to the point where the blue on the barrel is worn and the busing is slightly loosing metal..is this a major issue?

Thanks!

Well, barrels are supposed to rub on barrel bushings.
That's what the defination of a bushing is.

It is quite common for the finish to wear off any barrel where it contacts the bushing.

Have you tried oiling it to stop the wear?
That's what oil is for on any bearing surface.

hahahah rcmodel pretty much hit the nail on the head with a rather direct strike! I have the GSG .22 and it does the same thing so my fix was to inspect oil and ignore.

im a glocker, new to 1911's. i appreciate the response. called sig and they quickly said this is normal...ill see how it shoots over time. looks to me as if the bushing is not evenly bored by a hair.... need to get it out on the range. as long as it holds its poi im good...thx
