Louisiana voters need to call Sen. Mary Landrieu's office immediately.
I just called (fourth time) and told the lady who answered that I wanted Sen. Landrieu to vote in favor of S. 1805 and to vote against all amendments.
'The Senator is with you on this issue," the lady said.
"So, I can count on her to vote against all amendments?" I said.
"Well the Senator will consider each amendment on its merits," the woman cooed.
'That's not good enough," I said. "She can't have it both ways. The amendments are designed to kill the bill, so any vote for any amendment shows that the Senator doesn't really support S. 1805 after all, and voters will know this."
We need to call now and make the point that a vote for any amendment is a vote to defeat S.1805, and will cause Louisiana voters to consider that an anti-gun vote.
The phone number for Congress is 202-224-3121.
