Hi,
I picked up a ppk last year, an interarms stainless ppk in 95% condition, and it has a serial number in the mid 500's, something like A0005xx...
Am I correct in assuming this is one of the first 1k ppk's that interarms made or had made? I don't know the history of the interarms guns, production wise. Would that make it one of the first 1k stainless ppk's ever made? I don't know if anyone besides s&w or interarms made or imported a stainless ppk prior or since. Any collectors value there?
Also, I picked up a mint interarms stainless ppk/s around the same time that was boxed with all paperwork, factory target and....an extra ported barrel that I think is factory. I could not find any references online regarding a ported barrel option, and it seems strange that it would be included with a pistol with a fixed barrel.
Any info on either would be appreciated. If they were both collectible, I would be both happy and a little sad, since I'd be 0 for 3 in trying to buy a shooter ppk....the first one I bought was traded for.....a Taurus millennium pro 9mm and cash. The folly of youth, I know...the second i bought to replace it out of a pawnshop turned out to be an rzsha...? I think I'm getting that right...5th variation, which means it was issued to an SS soldier. Lol, great, rare and collectible, but not so much a shooter. These two were bought as shooters, and by golly, collectible or not they are gonna get shot!
Thanks!
